Guess what time you get a table at the Sci Fi if you have a 7:10 ADR.....................................oh about 8:30

ONE FREAKING HOUR AND 20 MINUTES LATER.........We sat there for 80 minutes waiting for at best very average and very bland. Unfortunately the park was full, the kids hungry and the options limited. And we have a real drive in less than an hour away showing real movies. Saw Indy and Iron Man last month.

The Sci Fi is a skip if you have the option

We have a drive in 20 mins away. i really hope that when I go it won't be that bad.

Service was slow, 1 drink and 2 orders were wrong. They were replaced after waiting a bit. The waitress had a slight attitude when 1 of the kid's meal came with sundae and the other didn't. She just said...oh, you want that kid to get the sundae? Geez, yes, they shared a shake and they can share the sundae too....I think she was trying to rush us out to turn table over for another party.

I would have to agree I would not wait one hour & 20 minutes for a place that I had an ADR. I hope it's not that long when we go in September. :faint: I really want to check the place out.

Sci Fi is one of those places that is always behind on its ADR's. Except for the times when we have booked times as soon as they open for lunch, we have always had to wait here.

wow - shame you had to wait that long - i'd have been whining.....

we always ask for the first available lunch/dinner at TS (calling at 180) - that way the "domino effect" is less likely to happen (when ADRs pile up, people take longer to leave tables, and your ADR time ticks away....)

That's making me glad we have an ADR there for lunch at 11:15!

We had ADR's last Aug for 4:30 and didn't wait long at all. We are going back again in July for a 5pm ADR.

I am sorry that happened to you but I can't advise anybody to skip this one based on my many experiences over the years. I guess we have been lucky. Sci Fi is the one and only place we have eaten for all 11 of our WDW trips. Some trips we ate there more than once. We ate there most recently on June 2, and had to wait maybe 10 minutes. We also have always had great service. Again, maybe we have been lucky, but we really love the theming, the corny movies and our kids would never let us skip this one.

Their menu is limited and its not gourmet but we have always enjoyed our meals there. And never one time had a long wait. But I have seen other postings to this tune so I guess it does happen. Boma is the one where that always happens to us. Not an hour but sometimes a half hour or more. And Le Cellier which is why I don't bother with that one anymore.

SCPP... How many were in your party? Just curious is that had something to do with it.

I'm surprised to read your wait was that long. Sorry that happened.

We eat at the Sci Fi every trip. Last trip we did have to wait but only 10-15 minutes. We love it there.

Man, everything I read about that place is just bad. If I ever care to check it out, I might come in for just a shake during an off hour. It seems worthless otherwise.

Here's the problem and I'm not necessarily defending the company, just explaining. People dine, eat, and digest. But they are also entertained by the movies so they may not leave right away and it wouldn't be DISNEY LIKE to tell a family that they must leave since they finished dinner. That's why they get behind.

I will grant that Sci Fi gets some mixed reviews. I don't get that personally and as I said above I have eaten there for all my 11 trips, most recently last week. I have never had a long wait. I don't think its worthless at all. And if you want to run the risk of one of these long waits for a shake be aware, there are no off hours at any place in WDW. We ate at 9:10 last Monday night and it was still packed. But we got in very quickly.

I also agree, some people linger for the movies, however, the loop is around 45 minutes so if they linger beyond that they are seeing the same thing over again. Almost all trips we end up finishing our meal just about as the first clip we watched is repeating. Last week we saw more of a repeat since we were on the DDP and got dessert (which we don't normally get).

To the OP... sorry about your bad experience. That said, we've always had pretty decent luck with our dinner ADR's at SciFi. Average wait is ten to fifteen minutes in our experience. Going to be returning June 22. Can't wait ! :thumbsup2
