Hi All,

I have one empty TS spot and I am debating btwn these two.

I am taking a 15, 13 and 8 year old. We are doing a couple of character dinners (CP for breakfast and 1900PF for dinner...and Ohana) but I wanted some stuff that wasn't characters or buffet. I like the both menus so my deciding factor is which is a better meal.

Oh, we are also going to Whispering Canyon Cafe, Le Cellier, and The Plaza(unless we luck out and get a Fantasmic package).

Thanks!

I would also go w/ 50's PTC. I've been to Sci-Fi twice and both times I was unhappy with the food. It's a cool atmosphere but that's all it has going for it.

I adore the theming and atmosphere at Sci Fi but in all honesty, the food is not good. If food quality is deciding factor, it has to be 50's PTC.

PTC has the best pot roast in the world or World, the fried chicken is wonderfu and the show is great. Both have great shakes as drinks on the DDP, but SciFi doesn't appeal to me in that you face a screen and watch clips. At PTC you watch clips too, of 50's shows, but it's like the tv in the kitchen; over there where it's not the center of attention. And when your server picks on you, the kids will love it.

Pete Werner, owner of this site, recently sent a cease and desist notice to the owners of the website d i s l i v e . c o m demanding that they stop using their site because the name is too similar to his. To avoid an expensive legal battle, they changed the name of their site. He has now sent a letter demanding they turn over the domain name to him or face a lawsuit. Not offering to pay for it, but simply demanding it be turned over. He apparently thinks he has absolute rights to the letters dis. Gosh, Pete, going after Disney next?

Just wanted to let you know a little about the “ethics” of the board owner.

Food sucks at both, you pay for the show which is kinda cool if you get an "into it" host.

Sci Fi Dine In all the way. Food is about the same at both, but atmosphere is a million times better at Sci Fi!

My vote would DEFINITELY be for PTC. The sci-fi is dark, they keep showing the same clips over and over, and the food is mediocre at best. Plus you sit facing the back of people you are with so you can't even have a conversation. It's worth peaking inside to see it but that's it.

At PTC the atmosphere is light and friendly. The food is good and if you are lucky. and if you finish your vegetables, your waitstaff will hold your plate up for the whole restaurant to see and tell you that you can now have dessert because you cleaned your plate!

If I was not going on a FANTASMIC package I would have gone to the Prime Time 50's, and ordered Onion Rings for an Appetizer, (THE BEST), Fried Chicken, and the Ice Cream Fudge Sundae.

And Say hello to Sister Dawn if she is still there.

Remember ELBOWS off the table, and finish all your veggies.

Phil

I Totally Agree ! I Would Do 50's Prime Time. Someone Before Me Summed It Up. Dark, Hard To Talk To Others You Are Dining With And They Play The Same Movie Clips Over And Over. Did Both Once And Am Going Back To Prime Time ONLY.

For us it's not a trip to Walt Disney World without a lunch at the Sci Fi.

Burgers and shakes. Stick to the basics and you won't go wrong.
And that atmosphere is fun fun fun.
We love it.

50's is just too much for us. All of it- the "act" and the heavy heavy food. (really who can eat a pot roast for lunch in that heat?)

I wanted to do Sci Fi--but could not get a ADR, so we took 50's. I ate at it before and it was yummy, but I wanted to try the sci-fi===good luck.

50sPTC! The service was great...Aunt Donna was the best!!!

Sci-Fi dinner was horrible :crazy2: Food...yuck (soggy and tough). Service...fine. Atmosphere...eh. Movies...annoying.

I agree with Java. The theming will probably be much more appreciated by your posse and you really can't go wrong with burgers, fries, really good shakes and onion rings. SciFi all the way!!!:woohoo:

The food is mediocre to poor at both and the prices are high. It's Disney Studios and none of the restaurants have great food. It's my least favorite park to eat at.

Both places are a fun stop. With 50's being the better choice. Yet on a hot day there's nothing like stopping off at Sci-Fi for a cool down drink and a light lunch.

While both may not have great food they are fun places to grab an overpriced meal and a little fun, all part of the Disney Experience.
