Sci-Fi Cucumber-Melon Salad?

What does this taste like, sweet, crunchy, a strange combination? Should we skip it and just get the fries?

When I was there in January the waitress strongly advised against ordering it. She said it was horrible. I really was tempted but she said it sounds better than it tastes. Sorry I can't give you any details as she really didn't want me to order it. I really don't think she would have let me try it!

I haven't had the tomato and cucumber salad there but I have at the ABC Commissary. I don't know if it is the same as the one served at the Sci-Fi. At ABC Comm. it was sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and fresh green onions. It had a vinigrete dressing on it. It was actually the best thing I ordered at the ABC Comm.

We had it last year and we thought it was really good and was a nice change of pace from all the deep fried stuff.

I personally didn't like it, but my Mother and DD13 love it.

We had it in January and I think this may be one of the single worst food items I've ever had. I'm a very adventurous eater and there are few foods that I will not eat. This was totally inedible IMO. The melon was not ripe, the red onion taste went horribly with the other ingredients.

Of course, the turkey sandwich I had with the salad was equally awful, bread was so stale that I had to take the turkey out and just eat the meat.

I love Sci-Fi and usually get a burger/fries but I'm on a diet and thought I'd be a good girl. Well, it turned out to be an even lower calorie lunch because I left most of it.

That's definitely not the kind they serve at the ABC Comm. It doesn't have the melon in it and it's more sliced than diced.

wow - i'd wondered about the cuke-melon salad - it sure doesn't look or sound the least bit appetizing - i'm going with the fries....
