Sci Fi Car for 8?

I was wondering if anyone knew if there were cars for "8" at the Sci-Fi. I am planning a trip with a friend and her two kids and want to take them there, but I want to sit together and I think the kids would get more of a kick out of eating in a car instead of a table. I wonder if I should make reservations for 4 and 3 instead and just ask that we sit near each other, so our kids can eat together, but yet we can keep an eye on them.

There are cars with three rows - seat 6- but I've never seen 8 - other than the tables in back of course. I doubt they'd guarantee you cars near each other. I remember once we were in a car with a family - the two rows in front of us were a group and then the car next to us had the two remaining members... I thought it was tremendously odd. I couldn't imagine why the grandparents were seated in a different car and we were seated with their family... It was fine, but definitely odd. The cars are cool, but I honestly don't know that it makes that much of a difference. Then again we go frequently...

Thanks. Maybe I will just make reservations for 4 and 3 and sit as two separate families. It's not like the set-up is good for conversation anyway. The kids might need a little "alone" time by then anyway.

How old are the kids? When we went ours were 4, 7 and 10 and the three of them sat together in one row with DH and I behind. They fit just fine and believe me, if any of them were squished, I would have heard about it! If we hadn't sat this way, one person would have had to sit alone which would have been weird. So maybe you could still fit in one car. I don't know if they'd let you do an ADR like that though.

We had a party of 8 and desperately wanted to sit in car tables. I did not want to sit in the regular tables with only a car front and back. So I decided that I would make 2 reservations for 4 at the same time. Guess what? I was told that I couldn't do that. I was given a reservation for 8 and was told that when I got to the podium to tell them what kind of car we wanted. They ended us putting 4 of us in a 2-seat car and 4 of us in a 3-seat car. The ones in a 3-seat car had 2 hitch-hikers in the back seat. The cars were right next to each other. So close that we could reach over the side of the car and touch each other. In fact I was even able to lean over and swipe some of the ice cream out of my nephew's bowl. It worked out perfectly for us. I was worried for nothing.

When we went a couple of weeks ago at check in they asked us if we wanted a table, car or first available, so you could always ask then for what you want.
