Sci-Fi ADR or HS Park Pass Strategy?

Hi! Our ADR window opened yesterday, but we weren't able to get Sci-Fi on our HS day (June 24th, day 3 of our trip). Both of my kids have their hearts set on it, and they only asked for two restaurants. I was able to get it on what was supposed to be our resort day (day 5), but now there are no HS park passes available to resort guests for that day (June 26th). There is AP availability though.

Do you think Disney may open up more park passes for resort guests, maybe pulling from the AP passes? Is there a timeline they usually follow? I plan to keep checking for both park passes and ADRs, not sure where I'll have more luck. I signed up for Touring Plans and Mouse Dining alerts as well.

I think you've got the right strategy! Looks like you've covered all the bases. Touring Plans has rarely, if ever, failed us in the past.

DHS did get additional openings about 2 weeks ago (we were desperately trying to get for 1 more person who decided to join us), so hopefully they'll add more park reservations in the upcoming weeks and you can switch days. Even if the calendar says no availability, keep trying to book anyway though! About a month ago, I was able to get 2 people in when it said DHS was full and the day was yellow and it went through. The calendar doesn't seem to update immediately(?)
(Our trip originally was 3, but now is 6 lol. We'll be there the same week as you and also struggling with DHS reservations and ADRs).

Is your Sci-Fi ADR after 2 PM? Could you get a reservation for some other park and hop to DHS after tapping in there? So far, there haven’t been any reports of anyone being denied access when trying to hop, even when park reservations were full.

Thank you! It is after 2 PM. That's a good idea. We don't have park hoppers as of now, but it's certainly something to consider.

We were there this past weekend, I was trying to get Oga's and Sci-fi and 50's Prime time popped up several times.
People let reservations go constantly the day before and day of.
Don't give up hope.

An Oga's popped at 8pm and we didn't grab it because we thought we would be in EPCOT.
Ended up we were in HS because my son and his wife got a fast pass for ROTR because my daughter in law didn't come when our boarding group was called at 12pm because the baby was dozing off at the time we were called.
They had scanned her MB and my sons ticket so they could baby swap and then she said she was ok not riding it.
Disney was nice enough to give them a fast pass good for anytime that day.

We went back at 7 after a break, we could have made Oga's..... lol
