Sci Fi - Additional people

We have a 5 person ressie at Sci Fi for lunch. We now have 2 more friends joining us for our trip. Has anyone personally ever had this happen? Did Sci Fi go ahead and accommodate the extra people? Thanks so much!!!

They may or they may not. If you are going at a busy time they may not have the availability. It is easy to go one up from an odd number (i.e. 5 people to 6 people or 7 people to 8 people) since tables usually have an even number of seating. With five people on a reservation you could probably easily get away with one more (i.e. to six) but going from 5 to 7 is completely different.

When we went from 5 to 6, we called and they made the change with no problem. When we found out one more person was coming, we called again to change to 7. They couldn't do it. The cars seat 6 so adding a 7th person really, really limited where they could fit us. They said we'd probably be split 4 and 3. We chose a different meal to have the others join us at, and went back to 5. Even so, with our ADR and back to 5 people, we waited the longest there than for any other ADR to get a table.

That place is crazy busy. I wouldn't just show up with 7 since it might be impossible to seat you. Definitely call. You might have to just adjust your ADR time. Or have the extra 2 see if they can get an ADR for themselves at Sci-Fi for the same time.

I'd think Sci-Fi the toughest place to accommodate the extras due to the cars.

Agree that adding 1 to an odd number should not be an issue but 2 would be problematic.

We were not able to accommodate an extra 2 people when we tried at the podium. They were booked solid.

I really doubt Sci-Fi could accommodate that since nearly all the cars hold 6 people, unless one of them is a toddler or a baby in a high chair. There are a very few bigger cars, and of course the picnic tables, but you'll probably have to split up into 2 groups.

Thanks everyone!!! Decided to change the reservation and made it for dinner with the proper number of people.
