Do any of you do the Schwans food delivery? It seems pricey, but the delivery may make it worth it.
What are your favorites and not so favorites? Also, do you tip the delivery driver?

I used to order from them, but I skipped a few weeks and the driver got snarky and told me I was wasting his time. I told him I ordered online so don't stop if there isn't an order. I should have reported him, he had such an attitude, instead I just told him not to stop again.

I use Schwann's, usually for a couple of meals a month. It's quick and easy, a little more expensive, but still cheaper than eating out. I like their quality. Both Hubby and I work, so some nights, this is the easy way out! :goodvibes

It is very expensive, but you are paying for convenience. Many of the items are pre-portioned and/or in individual packages so it is easy. Quality-wise, some things are better than others. Health-wise, everything is high on sodium and even the "healthy" items aren't very good for you.

My mother-in-law used to order 90% of her groceries through Schwan's, so I have tasted a lot of different things. Sure, meals are simple to prepare when they come boxed up, but I personally do not care for the taste. None of it tastes homemade.

A girlfriend of mine occassionally buys things from them. For her it's convienence. But I have heard from others that they like their products.

They are super nice... Fun for ice cream in the summer. There are a lot of additives in their meals you would not find in a home cooked meal..

My experience has been, if you order regularly from them, the service is pretty good. Yes, the food isn't all that healthy, but it is convenient. But, if you don't order form them regularly, you may get either 1) attitude or 2) hard sell from the driver/sales person of the route because these folks work on commission.

For us, Schwanns doesn't work. With graduate school, kid's school and sports etc. we aren't home to accept the deliveries and no, I'm not giving them a key to my house.

We do Market Day instead. Same type of food (Although we really like their Chicken Steaks! :thumbsup2) and a portion of the sales go to my kid's school. You don't have to have a kid in your local school to order. You can go to marketday.com and pick a school to work with. The only thing is that you do have to pick up from the school. But remember, that's fine with me...

I did it years ago. But the prices kept getting higher and they got pushier about what I was buying, so I stopped.

I did order from them, when we moved they no longer provided delivery to the area. I will not pay 15.00 dollars for shipping. I really like the ice cream.

Wow I must be lucky. I only order their chicken fries because my kids love them and their contents are much better than store bought chicken nuggets. I only order every 3-4 months and when I do I order 3 boxes. I have done this in 2 different states and my driver never gives me an attitude. I simply let them know up front this is all I want and I won't be ordering often. So far that has worked well

I've always had great service with them. I like their frozen veggies, they're much nicer than what I can buy in the store, particularly the broccoli. The ice cream is really good.

They also have a nice selection of "quick" foods that we will buy occasionally to have on hand as an alternative to eating out.

Their Silver Mint ice cream bars are dangerous. I don't order them often because I could eat the whole box by myself. :p

my mom orders off of them every two weeks..she loves just about everything but there are a few things she did not care for..they are a bit pricey but the ice cream is to die for..

My Dh used to work for them. I liked their cheesy chix rice thing but the size kept getting smaller, the price kept going up and our ever changing drivers got to me. I know of at least twice where meals were planned with schwan foods on menu and driver never showed up. My best/most releible service was when DH had our route.
