SCHOOLS OUT!!! May 23, 2010 Wonder Cruise

hi all! my family and i will also be going on the wonder 5/23. this will be our first cruise!! i am SO excited, i've been counting down the days for a while now and looking at any website possible to find out more and more about this cruise!! can't wait til castaway cay!

This is a summary of the spreadsheet.

Cabin# Screen Name # Adults # Kids Notes Adult Adult Kid
6555 MISSALLEN 2 1 No Allergies boy-15
7620 mousehse 2 0 No Allergies Wendy Beth
6311 disneynutwaits 2 0 No Allergies JT Paul- Bday 5/25
2094 disneycr8zy 2 0 No Allergies Ruth Beth

This is where it stands right now. 4 cabins with 8 adults and 1 kid.

I'm sure you'll notice we're missing. We decided to move our cruise to another using Florida resident rates. So we won't be joining ya'll on this one now. If you want I can email the Excel spreadsheet to someone else to do or I can keep compiling it to whatever cut off date you guys want and send it out then. I still plan on following along on the thread. Either way, just let me know!:thumbsup2

Hi
So sorry that you will not be joining our cruise on May 23, but I am sure you will have a great time no matter which cruise you are on.
As long as there are no objections, I would be willing to organize the FE exchange. If you want to PM me the sheet you have started, I will pick up the reigns and continue.

Hello hchik05 family... :welcome:

Cruising for the first time is the best...always great, but something extra exciting about boarding that ship for the first time! I will be make sure that your family information is either on or added to the FE list.

Only 79 days until our cruise set sail!

Have a great day,
Wendy

thanks Wendy!

we are so excited, i can't wait til we pull up to the port and see the ship!my camera is gonna be workin overtime these 4 days!lol

We are as also with the anniversary crowd. Celebrating our 20th on the 26th. Going without the kids and it's our first cruise ever! Will spend one full day and two nights at WDW before the cruise. Staying at Pop and have reservations for Californa Grill during Wishes on Friday. Epcot on Saturday with Rose and Crown reservations during Illuminations. Now the final piece if the puzzle is to get Palo reservations for the actual annivesary day on Wednesday. That will make it just about a perfect week.

Maybe we'll see some of you on the ship.

Tromba

There will be kids his age for him to play with--He will have a blast--and not want to come back to the stateroom.

Hey - do we have any other 9 -10 year old boys on the cruise. My son is concerned there won't be anyone his age. With myself, grandma and my five year old daughter he is surrounded by girls all the time. At this age he doesn't see that as a good thing.:lmao:

Hi MISSALLEN
I was wondering if I could ask you a favour? In order to make it easier for everyone to find the roll call and fish extender information, would you be willing to edit your first post and add that roll call information can be found on page #5, post #69 and that fish extender information can be found on page #5, post #70? Thank you! :flower3:

We are in on the FE exchange. The kids are excited about sharing momentos from the great state of Oklahoma :woohoo:. Once I figure out this PM thing I will send you the necessary info.:surfweb:

Hi OkieMB
Glad to hear that you managed to engage the creative side of your brain. :thumbsup2 Your children, and you, are going to have fun participating in the FE. I noticed that you were not included on TheBeadPirate's FE summary. Please either post or PM me your information and I will add it to the FE summary on post # 70.

Have a nice day,
Wendy

Thanks for the welcome mousehse! I had to research what the FE exchange was about when I came on the cruise boards a few weeks ago. I am an avid sewer, and I know my kids would love to be a part of it, so we'd love to sign up. I picked up the Passporter book this morning so I am hoping to pour over it today and learn what I need, but I am sure I will have questions, so I appreciate the help. We were lucky not to get any of the snow the other day, but we are supposed to get hit pretty good today/tomorrow.

Hi MMmomto5
An avid sewer? That should be fun! I also love to do handcrafts, but my Mom is the sewer in our family. I do know how to sew, but seem to end up knitting, cross-stitching and recently trying my hand at scrapbooking. I noticed that your family was not yet included on TheBeadPirate's FE summary. Please either post or PM me your information and I will add it to the FE summary on post # 70.

Have a nice day, :goodvibes

Hi hchik05
I'm going to try answering the questions in your post...
1. Wondering how many people are doing it on the 5/23/2010 wonder cruise? ... please see my post #70 (page 5) which is a summary of all those who have currently signed up for the FE exchange
2. Wondering if it was "traditional" to gift one thing per cabin or per person? ... you can give however you wish. You can give one gift for the whole cruise, one per day, one per cabin, or one per person. Please do not spend a lot of money or time. It is just supposed to be fun for all involved, the giver and recipient.
3. Will i be given a copy of the list of where these people r located or do i just search the halls looking for fe's? ... after the Friday, May 7, 2010 sign-up deadline date I will send out a PM to everyone with the final FE list.

 In addition, we could also consider a quick DIS group meet before the safety drill on embarkation day. I could bring some extra copies of our FE distribution list for those missing their copy.

I have added a couple of FE links to our FE summary (post #70, page 5) which should help generate some FE ideas.

Have a nice day, :goodvibes

Just passed the 'newbie' 75 day make your online reservations point and amazingly got all the times I wanted. Or maybe not all that amazing.

So I've looked a bit at what FE's ARE, but not what goes in them.

I'm not going to commit right now, since I have to talk to DW (she's the seamstress, I can do OK to sew up a rip, but not to make a FE).

We're going to BLT on the 17th then over to the cruise. She just surprised me with two days after the cruise at AKV! Going to be a great vacation.

SO, should we do the FE's?

Hi JohnPA
Congratulations on getting all of the reservation times you wanted. Don't really know if it's amazing, but it sure sounds great to me.

The actual fish extender can be as simple or as intricate as you would like to make it. Here is a link to give you some ideas...

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607&highlight=fish+extender&page=5

As for what goes in them ... please do not spend a lot of money or time. It is just supposed to be fun for all involved, the giver and recipient. There are two links at the bottom of post #70 which will give you some ideas of what people have already given/received.

Your surpise at AKV sound great!:thumbsup2 We are also going to WDW after the cruise ... two nights at the Polynesian for us.

When/if you decide to join the FE exchange, just sent me a quick PM or post the info and I will add your group to the main FE list on post #70.

This will be our first ever cruise,it is a late honeymoon for my husband and I,I am very excited, glad to see there will also be some others couples on here as well! Will be bringing my boys in 2011 if we enjoy it,which I am sure we will! It is Disney after all!

A few questions,,,I keep reading FE? What is this FE? and I have seen photos of peoples names in magnets on the doors,,is that something you do yourself?

So excited, and any tips you all may have for us,would be wonderful!
See you all on board!

May23rd!!!

OK,,,so I think I get this whole Fish Extender thing,,,so,now my questions is,,,do we make it and bring it,and hang it on our door,or will it go to someone else? Around how many gifts would we need to bring to go in other FE's?

Also,I have read that they have adult game show type games as well as the family ones on board?
I have SO MANY questions, that can not be answered by calling the 800 # LOL
so anyone that has cruised before that can let me know some fun adult activities on board,I would so appreciate it!

Hi fellow Canadian .We will be sailing away with all of you on May 23 as well .I have read all the messages and it took a while to discover what FE was .I have been on 4 other cruises but never Disney and I have never seen it of heard of it but it sounds great .My girls 7and 5 would love this .Their own treasure hunt .
If you go ahead with this we would love to join .My husband myself(Mom) and the 2 girls . I'm not so creative with this Fe you put outside your door .So if anyone has the break down of how all this takes place and if it is daily or only once during our cruise or some sort of idea for the none sewer what to use all ideas appreciated .

It seems no on visits this thread anymore? I figured it would be updated or answered on several times a day!

Hi LotsaMickey
This is your formal :welcome: to our May 23 cruise meet thread. I actually just responded to the PM you sent me. Hope I was able to answer your FE questions.
Quoting your first post ... "I have read that they have adult game show type games as well as the family ones on board? I have SO MANY questions, that can not be answered by calling the 800 # LOL so anyone that has cruised before that can let me know some fun adult activities on board,I would so appreciate it!"
I definitely don't have all the answers, but here are a couple of links that I hope you will find helpful in answering some of your questions. The first contains copies of the Navigators from a 4-night cruise. Navigators are your guide to all activities, dining, etc on the ship. A Navigator for embarkation day is available when you board the ship and then they are left in your stateroom each night for the next day's activities. The second link is the FAQ thread here on the Disney Cruise Line Forum...

The photos of peoples names in magnets on the doors is something that you do yourself. We always print directly onto magnetic paper. The rule for this is ... no tape.

Again, sorry I wasn't able to respond more quickly ... I actually work 2 separate jobs so Tues - Fri keeps me busy from about 6am through 9pm.:surfweb: Oh well, the 2nd job is my "fun" job and allows us the pleasure of dreaming about our next Disney adventure.:sunny:

Have a great day (what's left of it)!
