In the aftermath of a deadly shooting, a man and woman were seen walking into Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis with their arms around each other.

They walked up the stairs and into the school building.

Less than a minute later, screams of “Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God,” echoed out of the building and across the street, according to a CNN producer on the ground.

School, and other shootings have been sadly discussed here years, many years, before that other board even existed.

I'm not sure how a valid news story can be viewed as controversial. Yes, it can very easily go off the rails (hasn't yet). But there is nothing controversial about facts. Perhaps the Dan's comments after the link to the article could be construed as controversial or snarky towards those who are religious, but I should think anyone who is a reasonable adult could see that it was from a place of frustration and sadness that he typed those words.

I don't see how initial facts about, and expression of deep sadness over a mass shooting upon some innocents practicing their religion of choice is seen as controversial.

Now, discussion as to the possible motives, reasons behind, how or why the weapons were available, whether it's a hate crime...those are potentially controversial topics. At least in my opinion.

Never can sort out what sort of evil drives an adult to hurt children. Those poor kids just trying to live their little lives with their new backpacks full of hope, new shoes and fresh little haircuts sharing stories about what sort of summer fun they had, or what sort or antics they got up to when they were bored (saw 2 neighborhood boys collecting earthworms yesterday) ... always takes the air out of me. This is where stories of monsters come from & how I know evil is absolutely real, so sad.

But that was my point - THAT topic isn't what the post was about. It was about the actual fact that the incident took place.
