eerrrmmm dunno that's all american to me we call it a comprehensive school(meaning it is not a private one and is for 11-16or18)

starts at 8:30am

each period is an hour

lunch is 40 minutes

we end at 3pm

homeroom is 15 minutes morning and 10 minutes after lunch

What kind of school (ie elementary, high school, etc..) do you go to? K-8 School, though I'm in the junior high level. K-8 means I'm stuck with 900 whiney brats (there is another hundred, which is my grade that aren't). It's a big school.

What time does school start? 8.15, O Canada plays, followed by announcements, reading period.. school starts at 8.15, but the actual learning doesn't start until 8.35

How long is each period? 45 minutes.

How long is lunch? One hour (11:30 - recess, 12:00-lunch, 12.30- homeroom)

Do you have homeroom? If so, how long is it? We have it first thing in the morning from 8.07 (the time the door opens) to 8.35. We have it after lunch for a max of five minutes (roll call). We have it at the end of the day, for five minutes before the bell rings so we can copy our hw.

Well I come from England so the schooling's completely different! But I'm in Year 10 which is 9th Grade

Urm..I go to a private secondary school (a school for 11-18)

Well officially about 8.45 but everyone gets there earlier to talk lol!

35 minutes (I know its really short, but that means we have more lessons in a day to make up for the short lessons!!)

1 hr + 15 minutes (12.45-2.00pm)

Yeah but we call it registration, it's 15 minutes in the morning (8.45-9.00), then we have assembly (where the whole school go and listen to a teacher speak about a certain topic) from 9.00-9.25. Then we have registration at 1.45-2.00 (but u can turn up at 5 minutes to and make it in time!)
