School supplies Thread

Well, we beat you! We start on August 13th! I can't believe the summer is half over already!!! It is so depressing!!!:sad2:

We start on the 13th too...less than 5 weeks away! :scared1: I don't know where this summer has gone!

I haven't perused the entire thread, but for some of the posters wondering how long the Wal-Mart "sale" is going on - I think they might just be the regular prices for their back to school section.

I was in there today and got the 24 pack Crayons for 22 cents, 1 subject notebooks for 5 cents, Crayola colored pencils for 88 cents (Rose Art brand pencils were 60 cents), composition notebooks for 50 cents.

They also had 24 packs of pencils for 97 cents, but we have to send sharpened pencils, which are more expensive of course! And I'm not hand-sharpening 4 dozen pencils!

I also got DD a Kung Fu Panda bookbag for $7. They didn't have a huge selection, but she LOVES Kung Fu Panda right now, so it'll work. :thumbsup2

The nearest Staples to me is 75 miles away - BOO! I'm waiting for OfficeMax & Office Depot to have their sales.

Try 160  :scared1: But my kids like to write/draw notes to each other so I plan on letting them use them for scrap. I did "assign" them both a notebook the other day when I bought them - they picked 2 colors - 1 for fun and the other one I told them they had to write 1 page a day - a sentence, a picture, whatever they wanted but it had to have 3 different words on the page.

:lmao: :lmao: I am sure we will use them. MY oldest likes to practice writing as well and my daughter likes to "draw" in them. So, we will put them to good use. :cutie:

I was at our local walmart today and they had single subject note books for 5cents. I also found the book covers yeah for me and they were only 74cents compared to 2.99 and 3.99.

I don't have a Staples locally so I don't have them on my list.

Did anyone take part in the TRU buy a backpack get a free lunch box sale? We went to TRU on Friday and got the deal. Shows on line that the sale is still avail. Although I don't know if that is for online, store or both.

Our church is helping out a school near use, So I needs to find as many deals as I can to help out.

I seen Walgreens mechanical pencils & bic pens for .39

the rest is already on here

We were at Office Depot within the first 3 hours of the sale. They were out of the free after rebate 6-packs on the shelf. Luckily, an employee found one box on the overstock shelf and I was able to get a pack. So, if you are planning on getting them, you may need to get there soon.

Thanks to everyone who has been posting these deals. Our local paper doesn't have many ads in it. I wouldn't have known about the 1 cent stuff at the Depot without you guys.

Did Staples have an ad this week? There wasn't one in my paper.

The Crayola 10pk Markers were 88 cents at my WM. Of course no 5c notebooks. They didn't have their pencils that were 2/$1 in the computer system. I didn't feel like sitting there waiting almost 20 minutes for the cashier to verify the sale price. I'm getting really ticked with them. They have all these sales and almost never are the prices in the system. :headache: Ours were out of the 22 cent crayons. I still have 10 boxes from last year's sale. :thumbsup2

I still have a bunch of school supplies in my box but I did buy some Elmer's glue bottles that were 4/$1 at Rite-Aid. My schools never want the glue sticks so I keep them for here to use and my church.

Walgreens has the Fiskars for 99 cents. The 70pg notebooks are 4/$1 (for those that don't/can't find them at WM). They also had some stuff on clearance so check that out. I got 15pk eraser tops for 25 cents each. Of course this depends on your store and area.

I'm going to have to check this out. I buy about 40 bottles of glue each school year.

I was at Target on Saturday and they had a pack of 5 one-subject spiral notebooks for 50 cents. Not as good of a deal as Walmart but since my nearest Walmart is more than 30 minutes away while Target is 10 minutes away, it just wasn't worth it to me, gas-wise, to drive to the Walmart to save 75 cents on 15 notebooks (which is how many I bought)

I also got a pack of 24 count Crayola crayons for 34 cents.
