I am half way through the book and I found out that I have not learned enofe to feelo confident about moving on so should I move on so I can catch up or should I go back through the materal

What type of book is it? Is it for an English class? If so, I would recommend that you go back and learn the material before trying to move on. Otherwise, you'll just be wasting your time.

Absolutely you will need to start at the beginning of the material so that you may learn enough to feel confident about the information.

In that case, is there anyone you can go to for extra help before you move on? Do you have regular classes, or is it an on-line course? If you want to succeed at any profession (and especially one where lives might be at stake), I think it is very important that you understand the material you are supposed to be learning.

I have a tutor and I am going over the materal again and taking notes becuse if I highlight and take notes it will stick and I will feel better about moving on

My DD was struggling in chemistry, but we both realized she wasn't spending enough time on it. Sometimes you have to read it through twice and then, start taking notes - page by page. Some things are hard and take a lot of effort. Good luck!

Continue going to class and moving on, but in the meantime, you should also try going over the old material again. For instance, you can spend half an hour before bed each night, rereading the early chapters and making notes for yourself.

For a career like Medical Assistant, you really do need to get all of the information down. I'm glad you've got a tutor! Have you talked to her about this? She may be able to help you work out a schedule to catch up on the old material.

Well I'm not studying for a job - I'm 61 - LOL - but over the past 2 years I became very interested in reading Amish fiction.. Then a few months ago, I decided that I wanted to tackle the non-fiction aspect of the Amish culture, learning all I possibly can about them..

For me the best way to really learn something and retain it is to take notes - lots and lots of notes.. (I already have several 5-subject notebooks filled with assorted info regarding the Amish..) There is something about "writing it down" - after reading it - that really simplifies retaining much of the information.. The hardest part I have come across so far is in terms of their Pennsylvania Dutch speech - how each word is spelled and what it means - but by writing it down every time I come across it (even if it's a word or phrase I've seen/written multiple times when I come across them again via a different reference source) it strengthens my ability to recognize it the next time without having to go back and check the spelling and meanings..

So - I would say reviewing the chapters, writing down lots and lots of notes (copied directly from your reference books), and repeating the process as often as necessary will help you a great deal..

If you "go ahead" - without learning the previous material - there will come a point where it will be much too difficult to try to "catch up"..
