How many of you have started shopping for school cloths, i am almost done, i hate that job the most,, where do you all shop at, for me its jcpennys, old navy, gap, walmart, disney online, gamboree,, i buy a couple things from each place,,,cloths are so expensive,,,

We buy our school clothes for DS at Target, JCPenny, Dillards, Gymboree, Old Navy, Gap, and places like that. He's easy to buy for right now, he's not too picky with his clothing or where he shops. :) That's always good!

We bought a few tops last weekend at Target. DD really doesn't need many new tops. She will need jeans/pants. I usually get those at JC Penney because they have a good selection of slims.

I only buy my dd a few things before school starts. That way I haven't spent a ton of money when she comes home and tells me how uncool her things are. She's 7 and heading to 2nd grade. On Friday we sat down at the computer and I let her pick out 4 outfits from Old Navy.com and that's what she'll start the school year with. Then we'll get more as she needs it. I think I spent about $100 on 3 pairs of pants, 1 skirt and 4 shirts.

Psst: It's "clothes" :)

My DD has been chomping at the bit to go clothes shopping. She wrote up a list of exactly what stores she wants to go to, and what she needs. She's such a character. :goodvibes

We'll probably go this week. Sears, JC Penney, Target, Walmart, and places like that. Famous footwear for shoes.

DS, on the other hand, I'll have to drag him kicking and screaming to go with me, and we'll probably just go to Target because he likes their printed tees.

I get alot of my boys clothes at Kohls, Marshalls, Old Navy, Sears, JCP, and Target. Occasionally shop at Aeropostale, too.

I dont do the "whole new wardrobe" thing.

Plus - Im a clearance shopper. Which usually works just fine. I get summer stuff, In summer - winter stuff, in winter. And I save a load. :thumbsup2

no new clothes around here till later in the fall (cripes-it's been up to 113, shorts and tshirts are all they will be able to stand). we'll get new shoes-but i'll hold off until they need some warmer weather stuff.

Grateful for the school uniform .. will go right to the uniform store and get the standard grey pants, school crest shirt, grey socks and school belt. One stop, will take all of 5 minutes. Yay!!!!!

I'm sure that DOES help, and save a lot!

Thanks... :teeth:

I do most of my shopping at a very good thrift shop near my home. They are half priced on Mondays and I've gotten all of Michael's clothes from them since he was in kindergarten.

I get Izod, Ralph Lauren and Fubu polo shirts for $2 to $5. My sister does the shoe deal... he wears a 13 1/2 now :earseek: and they cost more than ALL of the clothes I buy!

All in all I spend no more than $50 a year on his clothing, and every year I get compliments on how he's dressed! :thumbsup2 He's EXTREMELY conservative in his dress, more like a man than a kid. Last year some kids asked him if he was a TEACHER! :rotfl2: He's the world's biggest 13yo!!

We did our shopping last Saturday at JcPenney's. First we had to go through what they had and what they needed. Criminy!! They had enough shirts for 6 girls!! Now normally I only get them one completely new outfit to start school and then go to Savers for the rest BUT....they lucked out this year!! :teeth:
For just over $100 we got:

For Abi(going into 5th grade):

A skirt
2 shirts (part of the first day outfit)
a jean jacket
a pair of khakis
a pair of jeans

For Cassidy(incoming Freshman):

a skirt
a shirt (again part of the first day outfit)
2 pairs of jeans

We always end up at JcPenneys because they carry the widest selection of clothes for both girls.

We then went to Target to school supply shop and got that done for Abi. Cassidy won't get a supply list until she picks up her schedule (we hope!!)

What age are your kids?

Most of the stuff at JC Penney, Wal-Mart and GAP are too "little" for my 10yo. He wants a hipper look than what they offer. Old Navy had some pretty bad stuff by me.
(I think stores vary in their merchandise).

I need to get my son men's Small clothing - he's nearly 5 ft. tall. So, I spend more for men's sizes.

What's the hot look in shoes this fall?

I haven't started yet, but we do a lot of shopping at Penny's, Kohl's, Old Navy, Target and Sears. DD's birthdays are both at the beginning of the school year, so they gat many school clothes as gifts. I need to get them to try some stuff on pretty soon to see what we will need for this year.

Haven't started yet. It is still really warm through the month of September where my DD's are still wearing shorts or capris.

I'm going to wait until end of August to do any shopping. Both want a new pair of DC sneakers which run at least $60 each. Then shopping at stores like PacSun, A&F, Maurices, Aeropostale, Limitied Too, etc. is where we usually go.

..not to mention Christmas shopping will be right after that!! Thank god I have a rather large Christmas club account saved this year ;)

We don't go back to school clothes shopping until October or so. It is warm enough here that they are usually wearing shorts until then at least. If they want something new for the first day of school then we will get them something but other then that, they are fine for a while. It is also nice because then they can see what they want that the other kids are wearing and makes shopping go faster. DS14 is a nightmare to take shopping. His clothes have to fit just so but he hates trying things on :confused3 . DD11 is pretty easy to shop for and DS11 is the fashion plate of the house so he tends to be more 'selective' in what he wants but isn't difficult about it.

Kids aren't allowed to wear shorts to school in middle and high school here. DD has capris that are OK but her pants are too short. She has really shot up this summer and wouldn't be caught dead in 'high waters'

I know what you mean. Sounds like my daughter!

We don't do a lot of back to school shopping. I picked up some notebooks and I'll buy some folders.

I buy sneakers when they are needed and at some point in October, we'll need to buy some jeans.

Other than that, they wear their shorts until October. Everybody has enough clothes to hold them into winter.

I did a lot of buying off of ebay. Almost everything I bought was new with tags, name brands like Gap Old Navy Ralph Lauren Amy Byer etc....Nice stuff and cheap.

All I am waiting on is a pair of shoes to come in the mail that I got off of ebay for one of the girls, and I'm done.

I just hate shopping. I really do. So the computer makes it easy.
