:wizard: I have seen so many people say they love School Bread....we have been to WDW so many times and have never had it or even know what it is...can someone clue us in? :confused3

You can purchase it in Norway @ Epcot. It is a pastry filled with custard and topped in coconut. I am not a coconut fan, but it was absolutely delicious and very filling!:goodvibes

I tried this last month because of the Dis. I thought it was good and large enough to share. My eleven year old loved it but I am not sure that I would get it again. I am glad I tried it though.

I tried it for the first time last week, and I can best describe it as a large, vanilla cream-filled donut, with a sugar glaze on top with fresh shredded coconut.

I loved it. DW didn't care for the coconut, but more for me. I just walked it off around the world...

Just had this a couple days ago, its a great bargain, $2.50 I think, huge, the pastry itself isnt sweet, the coconut on top is but the custard tasted more like butter than anything else to me though. It was OK and got mixed reviews amongst our group.

Oh my gosh! School Bread.....yummy!!!

There is only one other that can compare...Cloudberry Horn (also at Krigla Bakeri in Norway)

:wizard: Thanks so much for the pictures! :earsboy: Wow! That Cloudberry Horn looks amazing...what's in that??? :yay:

Maybe I wasn't impressed with the school bread because mine hardly had any custard in it. (I agree that it tasted like butter.)

The Cloudberry Horn is so light! Its probably where it got its name.;)
It is a flaky light pastry infused with a super light cream with pieces of berries mixed in.

The School bread can definitely be shared. Its cream is so good, but very filling. Where as the Cloudberry I could eat 2 and not even blink!!!

Thanks so much for the pictures. I have heard about the schoolbread but didn't have a clue what it was like or what it looked like. Hmmm ... was thinking of walking to Beaches and Cream for ice cream but school bread and other pastries ... maybe I will just stick around WS! :thumbsup2

BTW, we asked why it was called "School Bread" and the CM told us that in Norway, when the kids are old enough to go out to lunch, THAT is what they buy rather than "healthy things" :lmao: She said it was the worst punishment to be held in class over lunch because you couldn't get School Bread at school.

Oh, and it's YUMMY!
