Scheduling our park days question

We just decided to visit Disney in May. We haven’t been in a couple of years. A few years ago, we used to schedule our days (getting our fastpasses scheduled) based on when the parks had early entry or late night. For instance, we would schedule MK for the day after they had late night and wouldn’t schedule it on a day if it was an early entry day. What do you all use to determine which park on which day?

It's sort of random now for me. We used to always do morning Extra Magic Hours, but those don't exist anymore. Everyday is early entry at every park now. There are the evening extra hours for deluxe hotel guests, but I don't know if those affect the next day as much as EMH did. There is also the paid after hours events, but I don't think those have any effect. Using a crowd calendar isn't too helpful when you are differentiating between days in a week. One point one way or the other is just in the margin of error. I sort of use park hours, but those don't always differ much within a vacation. Sorry. Probably not very helpful.

Thanks for your reply. That is what I was thinking but wondered if there was anything that I wasn’t thinking of. I’ll just plan and hope for the best. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

For us, we scheduled MK and Epcot on the days they had extended evening hours for deluxe resort guests. Then decided which parks we wanted to do a second time and planned the other parks based on that.

I schedule parks based on proximity to where we are staying staying in Disney. It gives us more time for kids to enjoy the resort and the parks.

Sort of random for me. I always go during a festival so I always book epcot for arrival day. I tend to do a lot of split stays, a couple of nights at a value or moderate then move over to swan/dolphin. Since the buses for s/d drop off at ttc for mk, I tend to schedule it and AK for my first few days. It doesn't really matter to me though since I always have hoppers and go to a different park later in the day.
