Scene+ Program

With Metro leaving AM, I might have to resort to Scene+ to use at Foodland. I'm going to have to change my mindset.

If you have a Freshco i would choose that over Foodland.
I agree with that, but Freshco is a trip into the city, whereas there is a Foodland that I pass each Sunday. Typically, aside from Metro, I shop No Frills and the local independent grocery store, fruit market, and a produce delivery service.

Foodland costs more, similar to Metro Pricing.

I remember someone pointing out that while gift cards aren't a great value for points, if you're looking for anything at all to redeem, it's better than nothing. I saw lots of gift cards listed on the rewards tab tonight on the scene site. Including Disney cards.

Disney gift cards on their site are a really lousy points per $ redemption.

$50 grocery gift cards are 5000 points
$50 Disney gift cards are 6700 points

If possible it is WAY better to either get grocery gift cards and take the cash you would have spent on groceries and buy the Disney cards or just use the trick where you buy at least $50 worth of groceries, add a $50 Disney gift card to your order, and redeem $50 worth of points at the till.

Decided to optimize my Sobeys shop
I bought a $50 GC from Shell...get 20 Airmiles
I then bought 15 Boxes of Trail Mix Granola Bars for food donation plus a few need grocery items ,,grapes, bananas , mini donuts etc using the 50$ GC.
Earned 2,530 Points. I love that these will post in a few days.

Ok, I think I’m switching over to Scene points, AM are just getting too hard to get and use. What is the best way to use them?

The app will not keep my account number saved, so every time I use it I have to find my number and re-enter everything. Any fix for that?

Do you have Dream or Cash miles?

I switched over from account number to email address.

I use my email address and password

Not my number, email works every time

No mine will not save either and it is always two point verification for access

I like to use mine for hotels

Sorry can't help on the APP advice as I only do on line.

For my best use of Scene+ points it has been:

Hotel stay (3 stars) (unlike Airmiles the extra Fees were covered by Expedia)

Money directly deposited into a VISA account ( -1 stars) (terrible exchange ratio)
Edited to add,,,, I am thinking if you connected this to a daily high interest savings account it might work out ok.
just a suggestion as a travel account

Disney Gift cards (4 stars) so far it is working well and I should easily pay for my DVC timeshare dues 2025.

I have bought Disney GC online but the ratio cost me a little over 1,500 more in points (Approx. $15.00)
I don't do this anymore.

I think deciding what you want from an rewards program is the best first step.

Once my DVC dues are done I'll probably switch over to saving points for a hotel stay.

Best wishes
Hugs Mel

I had a great experience using Scene+ Travel with Expedia. You go through the Scene site to an Expedia interface where the prices match just going to Expedia.ca or are 10-20% less. You also get 3% back in Scene points. I booked two different hotels and our rental car for our recent California/Disneyland trip. Car rental was paid when the reservation was made six weeks before the trip, but we paid for the hotels on site. We earned $100+ in Scene points, so I got to grab a round of groceries at FreshCo for "free" when we returned and definitely didn't want to put anything more on the credit cards. You also now get 2% in points back at FreshCo (and maybe their other grocery chains like Sobeys?). I got the car for about 12% less than elsewhere and the hotels for 10% less. I paid extra to be able to cancel, so I cancelled and rebooked one of the hotels when prices dropped C$150 for our five days a couple weeks before the trip.
I'm really happy with our experience and am using them to book summer travel.

Just looking for opinions.
I did this offer today but didn't get the points on my receipt.
I bought 1 PK Energizer AAA.
Do you think I needed to buy all three products?
Thanks Mel

Current promotion in the Sobeys Atlantic flyer (and I checked a flyer for Ottawa, it seems to be there too, but check your local flyer!)
LOAD in your APP first!

Spend $50 (how hard is that with prices nowadays!) and get 500 points. Do it up to 3 separate times before August 14th. This earns 1500 points. Do all three shops and get a bonus 1000.
Total earnable 2500 points

Ha ha, I see it's at Safeway too, thanks for posting cari12
