Scary Movies

The Strangers is terrifying! As far as older movies, The Entity tortured me for years as a kid. I know it is not scary now, the original Nightmare on Elm Street truly was scary and I was afraid to sleep after that.

The Entity haunted my nightmares for years as a kid. It freaked me out. I was scared of that movie for ages. I dont' think I could even watch it now.

I agree! Just knowing that the woman says she was still suffering from the attacks. When I saw it the first time, I would just lay in the bed soooo scared that I was about to be attacked lol.

Yessssss! This is the one I was going to add. VERY creepy and it is probably my favorite scary movie of all time and I am difficult to impress as it is my favorite movie genre.

I thought The Others was one of the most booooooring movies I had ever seen! I guess the twist at the end was kind of cool, but geesh, I still rate that movie as one of the "worst I have ever seen"

Maybe I should re-watch it. It's been a couple years.

And as for The Entity...I just read the synopsis on it. HOLY COW that movie sounds TERRIFYING!! :scared1:

Signs. For some reason that movie gives me the creeps.

my favorite too!!! I think it will happen one day.......
:scared1:

THE EXORCIST is the only movie, that my children are not allowed to see at my house.
I saw it, I didnt sleep for months!!!!

The Exorcist
House by the Cemetery
The Haunting(original)
Horror of Dracula
Phantasm
City of the Living Dead(aka The Gates of Hell)
Nightmare on Elm Street(original)
Alien
The Evil Dead
The Last Man on Earth
Ju-On (the original Japanese version of The Grudge)
The Birds

My top five are:

1.) The Shining
2.) Aliens
3.) The Amityville Horror
4.) Halloween
5.) The Fog

These are all the originals...I don't usually watch remakes if I enjoyed the first one. Remakes can't compare with the originals.

Paranormal Activity 2 is coming out... and it looks like it's involving a family w/ kids!! :scared1: Did you watch it on DVD or in the theater? Because the DVD has a FREAKY alternate ending!!! I had to sleep w/ my booklight under my pillow for a week after watching that movie. I almost peed myself (for real, not just in the sense of the saying lol!) when the night after I watched it I got out of bed to go to the bathroom and the dog brushed by me, which is odd because he never leaves his bed, which is beside my bed, at night... I fricking WIGGED!!

Hostel is creepy/gory scary
The Saw movies ditto
Amityville Horror
I can't watch any Chuckie movies, I get nightmares for weeks... so I'll say Chuckie movies are scary, although they may not actually be - I just don't like him and can't catch a glimpse w/out being freaked.
The Fourth Kind
Carrie

That's all I can think of for now... I  scary movies!

DD13 has rallied her friends to go see this. Last count, I have 13 teens going to see this the weekend that it opens. Her copy of the 1st movie has been floating from house to house for her friends to watch.

The Fog is one of my least favorite John Carpenter movies. I mean, it's leper pirates. Who the hell is scared of leper pirates? You could just smack the dude on his arm and the arm would fall off.

Yea well I saw as a teen in a movie theater in which we were smoking and drinking in the theater. Made it much more fun. At one point I screamed and scared the crap out of everyone.:lmao:

My favorite scary movies?

I have to say Exorcist is not my favorite but it is "the movie" that scares me. As far as my kids, they saw the extended version with their aunt and laughed all the way through it. They watch to many parody movies.

As far as creepy scary for me I have to go with Pinhead and the Hellraiser series.

Alien is my number #1, but I put that in the Sci-Fi category and not horror.

I have not seen Paranormal Activity. I think I will rent it next.

I saw Paranormal Activity one weekend and then a week or two later saw The Fourth Kind. I thought PA was scary....until I saw the 4th Kind. That one kept me up at night. DD saw it the night we saw PA and I don't know how she wasn't sleeping our room that night.

Sounds interesting.:thumbsup2

Me too!! To this day nothing has scared me/freaked me out like the Exorcist!

To this day I STILL cannot watch The Exorcist! I saw the little "spider walk" clip on YouTube once and that is enough for me! :lmao:

The Exorcist.

Yep, this is the one movie that still scares the crap out of me. If I even try to watch it I have to mute the volume whenever the "devil" speaks from inside her. That voice sends chills down my spine just thinking of it.

Camp Rock II...:scared1:

I think this movie scarred me for life...;)

The Changeling- not the Angelina Jolie one, but the George C. Scott one. It is an oldie but definite goody! It will keep you out of attics for years...

OMG I love that movie! I have never met anyone who knew of it! It scares the bejeezes out of me!

What Lies Beneath was scary and The Exorcist, I still can't watch that alone!

My favorite kinds of movies!!!!
Here is a short list of horror movies that I adore:
-Let the Right One In
-the Descent
-Halloween (the original)
-Christine
-the Fog
-Rosemary's Baby
-Dead Snow - zombie nazis FTW
-Shaun of the Dead (it's funny, it's scary, it's perfect!)
-Dawn of the Dead (original AND remake)
-the Evil Dead trilogy
-Drag Me to Hell
I could keep going.

I am terrified of all scary movies because I wasn't allowed to watch them when I was growing up. Even Nightmare on Elm Street is too much for me. I was married to a guy who loved scary movies so I would watch them with him (mostly with my hands over my eyes)

The only movie that we watched that actually made him scream out loud at one part was the original When A Stranger Calls. Holy cow, when he screamed I must have jumped 10 feet off the couch. It must be really scary if it did that to a veteran scary movie watcher. I highly recommend it :thumbsup2

Halloween (original), by far. I LOVE the Halloween movie marathon that is on TV starting a few days before Halloween every year. It is by far my favorite scary movie. The Exorcist and Strangers are pretty good too! The first Friday the 13th is great also! They just do not make scary movies like they used to (I grew up in the 80s when all the good ones were made).

Can you tell Halloween is my favorite time of year! ;) I love all things spooky and creepy!

Plan 9 from outer space.pirate:

and even though I have never seen them, it seems the most scary are any movies that have the olsen twins in them.:scared1:
