Scared & need your thoughts -DD is getting notes

Yikes. Scary. I would go to the police regardless of what the school says tomorrow. I'm glad that the principal and teachers are being proactive but better safe than sorry. I have a 5th grade dd and if something like this happened I would be so freaked out, esp. the part about bike riding. I bet it's just some idiot kid but hopefully they'll find him.((hugs))

What kind of paper was this written on? If it was notebook paper that would be a big indication that it is a kid.

After looking around, it looks like it might be references from the game WarCraft. A very dark game IMHO. It appears to be very popular. I would not be suprised to hear that kids are playing this online.

They looked into that. All were on plain paper. they looked in the class room recycling and wastepaper and also in some of the kids desks but nothing. When they recieved the notes they were put in plastic bags.
They did the writing anaylisis and there were 2 kids that they talked to but neither of them had a clue of what was going on. I know one of the kids (and his mom) and he doesn't have the smarts for this.

That Warcraft and WAr of the Worlds thing sounds intriging. I'm looking into that.
Thanks

Talked to DH. We are going into school tomorrow.
Will update then

:grouphug: Hugs to your daughter and your family that this all gets resolved quickly and safely. I know that has to be frightening to you all. Things are so crazy these days.

There were no envelopes by any chance, huh? I was just wondering if that would make DNA from the glue possible........maybe????? I agree with another poster about looking into the fingerprints if possible.

I am so sorry that this is happening to you and your family!!!!

I can tell you this much- I would HIGHLY doubt it is from LOTR, most likely some sort of video game. I really cant help there as as much as i love playing video games, I have not bought anything from this year yet.

This is very scary -

I am just wondering WHY wouldn't you go to the police? this is NOT something to mess around with - I worked in a school where a student was sending threatening notes and it was NOT something our administration could handle - you have to get the police involved - having seen something start out with what the administration thought was a quiet kid turn into something where the FBI had a SWAT team at graduation - you really need to take action - this person regardless of their age needs to be handled by the poliec - not the school - PLEASE call the police NOW!!

I definately would go to the police. This is really scary. Please keep us updated.

:grouphug: :grouphug: just wanted to keep this bumped for an update

Absolutely get the police involved. I would also hire a PI to watch her every minute from a distance, out of sight. If this person left several notes, chances are they will leave another. Hopefully the PI can catch the person in the act. And I doubt the police would be willing to devote the resources for that type of surveilance. I have no idea what it would cost, but I would do anything to catch this person, and protect my daughter in the process.

These aren't silly "I like you" type notes for another 9 year old. They are very creepy.

Please keep us informed... I hope you go to the police now - but isn't it the school's job to let the police know when things like this happen??

I believe that in there is no such thing as an over protective parent in this world today. Please call the police. I would much rather be thought of as too careful than be sorry forever that I did not call.

Another vote for police involvement. THey can probably offer youa lof of real life advice. I'm thinking about you and especially your daughter....

My hubby is a big World of Warcraft gamer and he is not familiar with the quotes. However he says there are a lot of games out there right now that use that kind of tone/language.

Hang in there and please keep us updated!!! :grouphug:

Please let us know what happens tomorrow----I can't believe this is happening to your little girl! I work in a grade 4 class and have a 9 y.o. son, I can't believe any of them would ever consider anything like this and I would be terrified for my child.
Honestly we have behaviour students but none who could even think of something so disturbing. Our gr. 4 kids would probably write "you have funny hair" or "i don't like your shoes"---nothing like the creepy things in these notes. I agree, doesn't sound like its from the LOTR trilogy, video game is a good possibilty.
Again, more hugs to you all keep us updated :grouphug: :grouphug: ................

Oh, I think that is a great idea, WIcruizer! I hadn't thought of that one. I definitely think that you should get the police involved. I think that the PI is a super idea, too. He could watch and take pictures of anything/anyone suspicious.

Another vote for the police, and keep your daughter in sight at all times. This doesn't sound right.

That is just too creepy. I doubt it was from a 4th grader and if you school only goes up to 5th grade -- I'd really be surprised to find out it came from ANY kid in that school.

I would have went to the Police first.

Hmmm..hidden from the world of men...depths of the earth's crust...

Any Hobbit/Lord of the Rings geeks at this school? Sounds like it could be something related to that.

I was thinking the same thing
