I went to the police with it. There was nothing that they could do, but at least there was a report made. I would think that since this is concering a child, they might react differently in your case.

Just bringing it to their attention is a positive step. And if/when it happens again I'd do the same thing. If there is a continuous pattern and they're involved from the beginning they might can resolve it before anything comes of it.

Definitely go to the police. I just tried googling it, too. It sounds like it's from some type of text. I hope they quickly get to the bottom of this. And that your daughter remains safe.

Get the police involved NOW!!! Do not wait another minute. The cops could have another case involving notes left for kids and this may help the police catch the creep. Don't wait. This is your child. You can't take a chance. You have to use every available means to protect them, even if it's just a sick joke someone is playing on your daughter. You have to act now! It's good that the school has been notified and it sounds like they are going to watch her, but you can't count on that. The student/teacher ratio may not always allow constant supervision, even though they try their best. I hope the best for your family that this matter gets resolved quickly without harm to your family.

My daughter doesn't go on the computer or chat. We don't have MSN or any of those.

The school is Kindergarten to Grade 5 (big school of 650 kids). The principal and teachers feel that this child is very smart. There has been nothing else since Friday. By the way we had not heard anything from the principal till my DH called the school Fri at 4 pm and demaded that something get done. Interesting.
Hubby has been away on business yesterday and today. He's back tonight.
By the way the principal is a bit flighty but has really pulled up her socks on this. They were at the school (teachers and her) till 7 going over idea's.
I am concerned that it's not a kid but the handwriting looks like it has been copied from a book of some sort and looks very kid like. I think it's either a Gr. 4 or 5 kid.
Hubby is home tonight. I have copies of the notes and will talk it over with him on our next move.
I am VERY tempted to go to the police with this.

I would definately be calling your local police department. They can come in and work with the school to try to figure this out. I'm surprised the school hadn't called them in yet. How scary!

this is very filmilar to me,i think it is in a recent movie or video game.i can't put my finger on it,but i'm pretty sure it's from a video game. also just keeping my thought's and prayers with you! perhaps it from a older boy like 10-12?i have to agree with the others call the police asap!!!

Go to the police now. Don't take any chances. While it is probably a kid you never can tell. I would let the police be involved and I would make sure the your daughter is constantly supervised until this mystery is solved. What a shame - 4th grade and this happening.

I think you need to go to the police with this. Maybe the notes were written by a child, but not your typical 4th grader, that's for certain. Think about it, placing the notes in the backpack, choosing lines from possibly a book or video game, seems like a lot of calculating planning was involved. Again, not typical for a 4th grader.

Good luck getting to the bottom of this. I would be worried and upset as you are.

With the server coming down for maintainence, I thought that this would be a good time to introduce myself. I am merge, or Patto as I like to be called irl, and play by the name Eowimia. m is a bit of a no hoper at these recruitment things, so I figured it'd probably be a good idea to help him out a bit, especially seeing as I'm the second in command =) (you know it to be true m)...(I have the feeling I just broke rule 3...meh, whatever =D)

He got the basic gist of what we're about in his post, got some rules, where we are etc...but can't believe that he MISSPELT OUR GUILD NAME!!! We are the Order of Tirisfal, not the friggen Order of Tristfall...who ever heard of a place called Tristfall...sheesh =P

The Order of Tirisfal was once a secretive society, bound to the task of protecting the world from the agents of the Burning Legion and the mysteries of the Great Dark. It must be upsetting for your entire family.
I would be getting in contact with the police---even if it is another kid--too many weirdos in the world to take a chance on this.
It does sound like something out of a mythical type book or game but I would let the police decide this---the refence to her biking is what scared me----just an extra measure of safety by police involved.
Its good to know the school is taking such a part in this. Hope you find out something soon!

Just adding a quick note as you are in Canada--noticed you are from Ontario--I am in Manitoba. The police in our community take things like this very seriously--if it ends up being just a kid, well they need to be talked to by authorities because this is really weird behaviour--on the other hand if it is an adult, then the police in your community will hopefully deal with it in the most harsh terms.

DH will be home by 10ish tonight and i am suggesting we go into the school tomorrow and ask that the police representative for the school come in and talk to the kids. If that doesn't work them I'm going to the police.
Apparently it is not from Harry Potter but Lord of the Rings might be a thought or even the Artimis Fowl books. I still think it's some kind of Video game or online something or other.
The thing is that this kid is that VERY twisted and is in the school (if he is in the school) and is in need of some kind of serious counciling.
My daughter is scared but is staying with people all the time. The principal talked to her and she really has no clue as to who it could be. Her Teacher has been wonderful and is VERY protective of her.
I drop her off and pick her up everyday.

Did you cross reference the path of the bike ride with the kids in the school. I would think a number of kids may be able to be put on the not likely list, just from that.

Did they see anybody while riding?
adults, kids, etc.
It would seem if you are in canada, that its probably pretty cold, and only a few people were out.

If she gets another note, could she not touch it (no one touch it) and place it in a ziploc and maybe the police can run prints on it. If it is a trouble maker kid, maybe they already have prints on file and can find out who it is that way. If no match, at least they will have prints for a definate match when the do identify someone they think it may be then the person can not deny it.
I would also not rule out other girls as doing this. I think it would take a boy who is into some dark or bad stuff to come up with this, but just a few "mean" girls to come up with this idea to scare the daylights out of your DD.

I am so sorry this is happening. My advice is to put a camera in your DD's backpack - lens up. If anyone puts something in the backpack you might could get some video (hard evidence). Even if you could only get a hand on tape, that might would narrow it down to male or female.

At our middle school, we have a community police officer who is in the school all day. I think everybody would benefit in this situation from the expertise of the police.
