Scared about booking a house for the first time?

We are looking to book a house at Windsor hills July 10-17 next year and I have never done anything like this. I'm about booking it. It seems like a really good price. The house looks great. It is a 6 bed, 4 bath house on Daulby street. Please reassure me it is ok!! The deposit is the security deposit of $300 which will be returned 14 days after we leave. They also said that we can cancel with a full refund up to 90 days.

They were very prompt to get back to my e-mail. I want to call later and reserve it but I'm a little . I want to book early because the big houses are going fast and this is a very good price.

Please let me know if there is something that I need to look for before renting. The house seems to have everything that we would need and it is close to Disney.

If it is with a management company how about the BBB. Florida may have a special membership for those renting there houses.

I imagine the thing you are most worried about is the threat of the owners going into foreclosure?
You can check whether there are any problems with taxes liens or other payments by checking the county tax collector site

Apart from that I can't help as I haven't stayed in WH.

My family and I rented a 5 bedroom home on Daulby Street last November and could not have been happier! It was beautiful, the pool at the house was fantastic and we had a lakeview!!! I did all the planning so I to was VERY scared to make that final move to rent it. I went through the owner which really is less expensive. She was from London and that made it seem more nerve wracking. Someone on these boards had a link to look up the owners and make sure they do indeed own the house and if all is well. Which mine was. Even though all turned out great and the owner was very nice I will give you this advise. I made the mistake of not asking the TOTAL price with EVERYTHING included. The house was $1,500 for the week. I sent her the deposit and THEN she sent me the contract with the taxes and pool heating fee and the total came to over $1,800.00.
I have seen houses at WH's that were just as nice for alot less. And they specified on their website's if taxes and pool were included. Don't get me wrong. Renting a house is the BEST vacation move we have ever made. LOVED IT. Just make sure they are the actual owner and ask for the TOTAL COST with everything included. YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!!! Oh, also ask about the key to the house!!! I think most have boxes at the house where you can retrieve the key there. Make sure you don't have to drive miles to a management company to pick it up. Thank you for all the information. I did check that the owner does own the house by using the court website that JANNYANS sent me. I called today and spoke with the owner. Very nice, answered all my questions, gave me a lot of information. He also responded to my e-mail really fast when I first contacted him. I feel better now. I will still have to wait until July when we get there to know that everything is ok but I do feel better.

When I e-mailed him to begin with I asked for the total price and when he sent me back an e-mail he broke it down by price for the week and tax. We don't need pool heat in July.

It looks like a nice house and it is a very good price. I don't know the address on Daulby street but I wonder how far it is from the resort pool.
