How do you scan a 12x12 scrapbook page? I'm confused

Either you need an oversize scanner (not many people have) or you can just do what I do and take a photo of your layout then crop it!

Here's some tips for photographing your layouts...

-remove them from their sheet protectors
-use a tri-pod or hold your breath when you take the photo
-use lots of natural light, not fake light

Another thing you can do, which is much harder and time consuming is to scan both halves and thread them together. You have to make sure that you are at the same resolution and starting size with both images for it to turn out seemlessly. I just take photos with the digital camera and upload them to the computer. They aren't the best quality, but they are sufficient for sharing.

I have a Mustek flatbed scanner that scans 11" x 17" and I love it. It will obviously cut off 1/2" from each side but you get most of the page on it. It was very inexpensive. I bought it last year and I think it was under $150. You can google Mustek scanners and find it. Or do a MySimon search for competitive pricing.
