I was very happy to see Olivia in fighting form. And Jake saying that's he's no one's second choice - or whatever he said.

You know I was suspicious about Mellie too but...... that is how she thought about the 2 of them in 1st season. Mellie said that Olivia had not "done her part" by leaving the White House/Fitz in the 1st season. She truly knew Fitz needed Olivia and when she left, that's when Amanda Tanner got her hands on Fitz.
That being said, she could be going back to that or she could be conniving even more. I watched her face and she seemed sincere (like that means anything lol!).
I just have to realize I am not going to get my Fitz & Olivia togetherness like I want. It would be a great story line of them working together again but that's a full time job and 1/3 of the shows story line is the Gladiator's clients.
No Olivia- no clients, or much less anyway.
I don't think Fitz knows about Olivia's mom and dad and his roles in their lives and death either. I am sure that's where my HEA (happily ever after) goes away.

Call me naive but I thought Mellie was having a real moment.

And I agree with your last part as well. He doesn't know.

So frustrating- just more questions.
Of course I wanted to see more Olitz scenes and I really wanted Olivia to work on Fitz's campaign.
I cannot even believe these 2 ever loved each other- and certainly not now.
Also, Olivia is back to those ridiculous facial expressions.
I feel like there are too many stories going on now - too hard to keep up, especially with the fast dialogue.

I have to say that this show is one of the reasons that I love my DVR. I watch Scandal a few times each week. I love Olivia, and not a big Millie fan, and after last week a little on the edge about Fitz.

ABC is most likely blocked by the great chinese firewall. Most content in China is censored by the government. I will find out next Thursday!

Mellie & Cyrus both fascinate me! I'm not sure I like either one of their characters, but the actors are SOOOO good at portraying them that I enjoy both of the characters, if that makes sense.

Cyrus last week comparing the situation to a Greek tragedy... love him!

And the scene after the bomb explodes in the Capitol & Fitz walks in on Mellie drinking in the dining room was great - one of my favorites of the entire series. Bellamy Young (the actress who plays Mellie) is excellent - I love how she subtly changed her accent to more "southern/country" since she was drunk.

And she plays Mellie w/ such nuances! Loved last week when she got mad at Fitz after she found out that Olivia wouldn't be handling the re-election campaign!

Any woman that shudders when she states she was forced to have kids is not high in my book but she plays a great character.

I thought the Icarus reference was funny too because it's mentioned a lot in 50 Shades of Gray.
Someone asked Tony Goldwyn on Twitter why he keeps letting Mellie call Olivia a w*&^^ and he said "Oh yeah, I gotta say something to her about that". It was funny.

Yup. Nice twist. Too boring if it's Fitz.

From a story point of view, it would be more scandalous for Fitz to the father but I would be surprised if Olivia Pope has a baby. It's a life altering event which does not slide into Olivia's life at this time and would change the focus of the show.
