SCAL help

Hello all,

I am a long time lurker on this forum, but would love to get more involved. I am trying to make a SCAL .scut file from a coloring book image for Merida from Brave. I am having trouble and have tried searching for a you tube video for instructions, but the images they are using are pretty simple. Does anyone have a video or a step by step site that they can recommend. I really appreciate it.

You should have the image stored on the computer. Then when you open SCAL, you go to File>Trace Image>open the file with the image>and click ok. That should put the image on SCAL. Then you can select the image and break apart or ungroup by right clicking so you can have your layers and you can also simplify your image by choosing the "path" tab up top so there are not as many nodes/cutting points for the image. At least that is how I do it.

Thank you - that is what I am trying to do, but it does not seem to be working. Maybe I need to use a simpler image, especially since I am not very good at this. There are just too many layers and I cannot seem to get it to look good.

I guess I should practice with something easier first.
