I am teaching my first class at the LSS tomorrow afternoon. I am both excited and nervious. The class is mosaics. I have my lesson planned out but I still have to figure out how much time to take for each segment. Mosaics look a bit cosmic but there are actually a few simple tricks, that once you know them, you can start knocking them out. I hope everything goes well and I get asked to do others. Once the store moves to it's larger location there will be many more classes offered. I hope I get to be part of the line-up.

Wish me luck.

Good luck, Chessie! I'm sure you won't need it though. You'll do great! :D

I love the look of mosaics. Maybe you can share some of your tips with us sometime. :)

I can't wait to hear how your class went. :)

I've never made one, but I think they are beautiful. Being prepared for class is half the battle. Let us know how it goes.

My class went great.

After I showed the examples and some of the different variations, I had them make a templet. The templet has a lot of measuring and you have to really be accurate. I could see their faces and I knew what they were thinking "I am not going to like this class. and I will never make another mosaic." But ... once the templet is made you never have to make it again.

By the end of the class they were raving at how great their mosaics had turned out and how simple they were to do. The class was only half full so I took their picture holding their mosaics for promoting the next class. When they came out of the classroom there were quite a few customers in the store. Of course they were all to happy to show off their pages.

Just a little tip: Before cutting you photo into 1" squares....Run 4 lines of hermafix adhesive, long ways, down the back. Now....All you have to do is peal and stick.

That is a good tip, Chessie. Glad to hear it went so well. I can't wait to hear what you're teaching next. :)

How exciting! The page sounds neat... Wish you could post a few pics for all of us to see!
Good luck and hope you get many more classes in the future
