SB or FP+??

It's been a few years since we've been to WDW. There will be my DH, adult DD and myself. There have been some changes to the queues + then there is the new Fantasyland! AND...the new FP+ system. If this were the legacy FP days, I don't think I'd be as concerned!

Is it worth getting a FP for the following (would I miss the theming in the queues?).

Peter Pans Flight (have a FP)
Enchanted Tales with Belle (have a FP)
Little Mermaid
Haunted Mansion (last time we were there, it was closed in order to make the SB line interactive) - just opened in time for our visit - yay!!!
Seven Dwarves Mine Train (I do have a FP for this, but is it worthwhile standing in line also?)
Meet Tink (have a FP - plan on seeing her on our exit on the 1/2 day)
Meet Mickey (have a FP for time slot following Meet Tink)

We are doing one am emh (full day) and one RD at MK (1/2 day) - Would I be able to get most of the Fantasyland done within the emh opening and save HM, Adventureland & Frontierland for the RD morning?

I love the theming at DW, so...is it worth skipping the line and getting a FP for any of the above, or changing any of my other FP to something else?

Thanks Robo...Mesaboy2's thread does NOT answer my questions. I would like to know if going SB in the new (to me) queues are worthwhile?

I do tend to point people new to FP+ and How to Book a FP to both mesaboy2's thread and also to easywdw where there is an entire walk-thru on "how" to book and/or make changes (also noted in Mesaboy2's thread).

Anyone know the answer to my original questions?

If you FP+ Enchanted Tales with Belle, you miss going inside Maurice's cottage. I really enjoyed that, and all the details inside made the time pass quickly. So I guess it would depend on how much you love the characters and stories of the others on your list. For me, Beauty & the Beast is my favorite so I didn't want to miss anything in the queue.

I haven't been since the SDMT was opened, but I plan to go through the SB queue for this one when we're there next year. Everything I've been hearing about the theming of the line sounds cool and I want to check it out.

I'm doing the same for Peter Pan, for the same reason. I'm one of those weirdos that loves the details in things, so if it means I need to stand in a longer line to get the full experience, that's what I'm willing to do. On the plus side, that usually means I have nothing to contribute to the ongoing "FP+ ruined my vacation" rants! LOL :thumbsup2

Don't know if that helps you at all, but just so you know you're not along in your debate! :)

I don't see how anyone can answer whether or not something is worth ______ to you.

Mickey and Tinkerbell M&G have no queue except a line, some ropes and posters. Maybe you're a poster fan :confused3

Mine Train has a decent queue as far as queues go, but I can't imagine standing in it if I didn't have to.

I guess if you're asking my opinion, no line is worth standing in if not standing in line is an option but I'm not sure how much that helps you.

No you won't. All you miss is standing in the line outside. You still enter the cottage like everyone else (just before they do) and go through the same pre-show character assignments, etc.

Maybe my memory's fuzzy, but not when I was there. FP+ entered the pre-show area through a side door. The queue from the outside wound through the inside of the cottage, then stopped in front of a door to a little hallway. FP+ came in through the side of the hallway (missing the inside of the cottage), then SB was let in to that hallway to get into Maurice's workshop. Everyone gets to the workshop and pre-show, just not the cottage.

But that was last December, so like I said, maybe my memory is fuzzy or maybe they've changed things.

That is correct...you still go into his cottage (workshop - where the mirror is), just not through the other parts.

In the end, you have to ask whether waiting in line is worth it to see the queue. I would probably opt to get a FP+ for anything that you can and then if you like the ride enough, do it a second time without FP+ so you can see the queue. I found that standby lines weren't insignificant in many cases, so if you forgo FP+, you'll probably end up spending a fair amount of time in line.

Haunted Mansion - The graveyard is fun and interactive, so this probably one line I'd opt to do standby at least once.

Seven Dwarves Mine Train - The interactive part was fun, but I probably wouldn't opt to stand in that line again if I could avoid it. The line can be long and not that much of it is interactive.

I like the well-designed queues also and would be willing to wait 20-30 min in a SB line with a good queue and use the FP+ on something with very long waits or without any cool theming.

I haven't seen the new PP queue, but that has waits of 40+ minutes nearly all the time. Personally, I'd use the FP for it.

7Dwarfs, I'd like to see the SB queue at some point and would be willing to wait, but not 75+ minutes, which is what I saw on most of my recent visit. FP it.

As stated, you wouldn't be missing anything in the character meet lines - use FP.

Little Mermaid does have a cool queue and can often be found with reasonable waits - I'd do SB.

HM - I love that queue and choose SB there.

Enchanted Tales - I only did FP, but still saw the really cool workshop room with the amazing mirror in it. Don't know what I would be missing from the SB line, but it's an attraction that takes a little bit of time anyway and I still saw cool stuff, so I was glad I used a FP
