while we are at Disney :guilty: This is my all time favorite and it has been the first ride the four times I've been to disney...what am I going to do now?

We are going to be at Disney November 13-18.

According to allearsnet.com Haunted Mansion will be closed from 11/6 to 11/15 for refurbishmet. You should be able to see it right after it reopens! :cool1:

It needs refurbishment! We were on it Sunday night (at MNSSHP) and it stopped for a WHILE......when we were waiting inside AND when we were on it! We all just kinda SAT there........waiting.......

It probably does need refurbishment, but usually the stops are to allow people who have mobility issues to board. I've seen this happen twice personally. Luckily I'll get a chance to ride before it goes into rehab, although I'd rather ride it right after rehab. Oh, well. It's still one of my faves.

I also heard that their was virtually no dust or cobwebs left! Definitely time for a refurbishment :rotfl: .

We were on a couple of years ago when it stopped to unload a wheelchair. We happened to be in the graveyard where the skeleton kept popping up. My kids were little and they refused to go on until recently. I conned them into it by telling them we'd get them "I survived the Haunted Mansion" t-shirts, which they obviously don't make because we couldn't find any.

were at the world nov 13-19th & were upset too to see it closed for refurbishment, but it least it will reopen before we leave, same for you. ive changed our plans just to see the haunted mansion. its a great ride.

hi all,
was just there 2 weeks ago and i have to say hm is one of my favorite rides too,but it is in need of a refurb.went on it 12 or so times in 10 days out of the 12 times 2-3 times the audio was a mess and skipped and left out areas of the audio.at certain scenes.hope all who are going get to ride it.

Must be time to rearrange the dust and cobwebs. With that short of a period, they can't really do a huge overhaul. It does stink for the ones who will be there during that timeframe though.

What park is the Haunted Mansion in. My ds would LOVE this!

Magic Kingdom. We run to the back of the park to get to it before a line forms.

I think it's just closing to do a Nightmare before Christmas overlay and then will shut down in January for a week to remove it. Perhaps someone else can confirm?

They haven't done this at WDW yet, and there haven't been plans laid out to do so either. Perhaps they're keeping it a secret, but at this moment no info regarding Nightmare Haunted Mansion in WDW.

Ok Haunted Mansion experts, give me some details on the ride? Also give me tricks on how to get to it first and beat the rush!

Actually Haunted Mansion has a very fast moving line. However during the parades, in the early morning (when everyone is running to Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Fantasyland) and any time after about 4PM, the line is nearly non-existant.

We were just there last week and everything looked nice and dusty and cobwebby (is that a word???) to me. The audio was fine also. It does stop every now and then to allow guests time to transfer from wheelchairs, but we never had any long waits.

I thought it was just me, but 2 weeks ago you could barely see the candelabra in the hallway effect. Also, in the part with the woman in the crystal ball, the tambourines could not be heard. It was VERY dark and the audio wasn't working right. As I said, I thought it was just my eyes getting old, but DH said the same. We rode it about 5 times and it was not better.
