So I just saw the Saving Mr. Banks first official trailer; and I'm in love. Literally I started to cry. I don't know why, but I think it's the sentimental value I have for Disney, and how much I believe in the things that Walt dreamed, achieved, and believed.

I'm SO excited for this movie. I really think its going to wow people and that Tom Hanks will really honor who Walt Disney was.

So what are your guys' thoughts?

I can't wait to see it! When I watched the trailer yesterday I was blown away! I love Mary Poppins, both the film and the books, so I think it will be really interesting and Tom Hanks seems so perfect for the role.

Yeah I feel like with the Mary Poppins concept it will be really interesting! I'm intrigued to know how much of the movie is true. I think Emma Thompson is going to be great though because she actually played a nanny in Nanny McPhee.

I also watched it yesterday and was interested to see how it comes out.. Does anyone understand why they call it Save Mr. Banks?

Mr. Banks is the father of the family Mary Poppins joins, and he is the one that Mary Poppins saves.

It's because when Mary Poppins went to the Banks family, she wasn't there to save the children by disciplining them, etc., she was there to save their father and the way he was so absorbed in his work and not paying enough attention to his family.

I am so beyond excited for this movie. I love the way they're making a full length movie about the story behind the story, if that makes sense. So many people don't understand how much history Disney has! I can't wait to see Walt portrayed on the big screen I got chills just watching the trailer.

At first I didn't get the title either, but then I realized that the family's name was Banks and it all made sense lol. But I'm super excited for this movie! I love Tom Hanks and I think he's the perfect fit for Walt. I just really hope they keep the story accurate to what happened. December can't come fast enough!

i think it speaks for itself

Yes and with the title and what it says in the trailer, Mary Poppins is also based on a true story, so the character Mr. Banks is based on someone, and she saved the family

I'm excited to see both Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks in the film. Although, I noticed that Fantasyland looks inaccurate in the film.

Well it's hard to shoot a movie in a open theme park, and the fact that it takes place several years ago and there's less things then there are now. The time period change is hard, maybe they didn't film it all at the park

I'm guessing they flimed it early morning before park opening with extras in apporate period wear :) I'm hoping they fix Fantasyland with CGI before it opens.

Exactly what I was going to say :thumbsup2 The DL scenes were filmed on location and so I'm sure they did the best with what they had (all the extras are dressed in clothes that match the time, parts of Disneyland were redecorated to give it a more vintage look, etc.) but it's not possible for them to change the park physically so that it looks like what it looked like back then, they can do some magic through special effects though.
