We finally took the leap and booked a Disney cruise for 2012!

However, as you probably know, Disney cruises are not cheap and although we could probably just pay for it out of our emergency savings I'd really like to earn the money/save enough money to pay for this cruise without dipping into our emergency fund.

I'm a SAHM to 3 kiddos. Can anyone share their best ideas for either earning some extra cash or saving on groceries?? I've done some mystery shopping in the past and I am open to new ideas on grocery shopping.

Thanks!

I opened a savings account with smartypig. You tell them what you goal is and when you need the money. You can have money automatically transferred into your account and they are paying 1.75%.

You could do sunshine rewards and cash in for Disney Gift Cards. I personally don't do a lot of surveys but people who do earn quite a bit.

Have you ever tried "rubber chicken" - Rubber chicken is the idea that you buy one chicken and stretch it to last a whole week. Ideas like rubber chicken (or reusing a roast for a week) can really cut your grocery bill.

Buy kids clothes second hand. It will take a little work and a little shopping, but evenutally you'll find where the good spots are. A girlfriend of mine used to go to a consignment shop where her "style sister" would sell her stuff - they were the same size, the same taste, with the same coloring. It got to the point that the shop owner would call my friend when the other woman did a drop off.

Turn down your heat a degree or two or five and have everyone wear sweaters around the house. In the summer, turn the air down, too - so the house is warmer.

Have a garage sale.

Bake from scratch - bread especially. Good bread is expensive - and flour isn't (stock up at this time of year when its on sale). For the truly frugal, start a sour dough starter - yeast isn't cheap.
