Hey, all! We will be in the land the 29th - Feb 1. How busy is it during this time of year on the weekends? I have never been during a weekend and have only gone during off season.. Any advice will help!

Also, the Sunday we are there is Superbowl Sunday and even though I originally heard its not crowded at all, I have read on here that its actually more crowded that one would think. Let me know, thanks!!

Short of a crystal ball, no one can say for sure how crowded a given day will be, but there are indicators that you can use to try to get a "feel" for what to maybe expect. On the dates you listed, the following is true:

- Off season at DL - low crowd
- Weekend - high crowd
- Deluxe PPs are not blocked - adds to crowd
- There are fireworks scheduled on the 31st - high crowd

This last point is the key re: your dates in my opinion. There are no fireworks at Disneyland from 1/3/09 until March with the exception of MLK weekend, Presidents weekend, and 1/31st. This tells me DL is expecting people on that day and/or it is some sort of special day. In any case, it will bring out all the people who LOVE DL fireworks and either have planned their trip around seeing them or have APs and will come to the park that night to see one of the few fireworks shows in 3 months.

As for Super Bowl Sunday, I can tell you that is the day that I find myself thinking every year, "Heck, he's going to watch football all day. I'm going to go play at the Park!" Idk if I am the "norm" there, but... I could see it being a busy day. I can't remember for the life of me how busy it was or wasn't last year as I just do my thing at the Park regardless of crowds. Maybe someone else can remember and comment on that part.

85% of the time we go on a weekend. Usually Friday through Monday. And Saturday is always the busiest day. Thursday, Friday and Sunday should be okay for you. Sunday is usually somewhat busy, but not like Saturdays. For Saturday I would suggest get there before opening and avoid Fantasyland since it's a MM that day.

I really don't know what Superbowl Sunday will be like. I heard that last year was kind of busy that day. But you think people will be home watching football and not out?

HTH!

I wonder if on the Super Bowl the local moms take their kids to DLR so that the dads can watch football in peace. If so, that would make it more crowded. princess:
