GF and I dined at the California Grill, both of our first times as CG. I dined here as the "Top of the World"...
Anyway, we had no PS but basically walked in... It was crowded so we were surprised we got in quickly. We dined in the Wine Room (for those who have been to CG, you know about it...) There were a few other couples in there but pretty quiet.
Anyway, our server was Rich, who could not have been nicer or better. We were unsure of wines (since GF and I are NOT connoseurs (sp?)) so Rich gave us a mini wine tasting... This was great. Our meals were fantastic and Rich waited a bit to put our dinner order in so that it would not come out before the fireworks at MK.
While we were dining, a woman came around arguing with any CM in her way. She had a 7:15 "Reservation" and it was now 7:30... She was real upset that her party had not yet been seated and was yelling and making a scene. Well, needless to say, her group was a party of 14!!!! Anyone with brains knows that it is not easy for a restaurant to put together a party of 14... Have some patience. Anyway, the CM's did not have room in the main dining room and decided o bow in to pressure (wish they would have stood their ground) and put this group in the Wine Room... My GF and I were joking with Rich and another server, Erin about the whole thing "Bet you guys did not expect to serve kids in here tonight..."
Well, we finished our dessert and coffee and thanked Rich and Erin and left them both a very generous tip to thank them for their hospitality... The had a rough night but they were as accomodating as ever to us...
I was highly impressed... As for the California Grill... EXCELLENT!!!
