We are arriving at WDW on Friday, I was thinking of going to MK on Saturday due to the kid's excitement. Does anyone know, is this a crowded day? I was reading the "Minnie Mickey" book which said Friday and Saturday were the least crowded day in the summer, but it doesn't say what it considers summer. Thanks for your help!

While I have not been there in the summer, I usually go in December, I have noticed that MK seems to be busier on Saturday. There were some rides with a wait of 60+ minutes, while on say Sunday or Monday, the lines were much shorter. HTH even though it is different seasons. :D

Two summers ago in Aug. we spent our last morning, saturday, in the MK. We couldn't figure out where everyone was! We just zoomed all over the place with little or no wait for anything! We wondered if a lot of people leave on Saturdays. Don't know if this is the norm but it was a great way to end our trip.:)

Have to agree with it's being super busy on Saturdays. Every time we have gone on a Sat it has been horrendous. Now, my dd at age 10, has finally agreed that it just to big a headache to go to MK on a Sat. !!! First thing in the morning isn't too bad, but by about 11 a.m. it's crazy. And don't even think about Sat night!!! All the locals are there then too. Nope. We avoid MK on Sat now. And we have found it to be this way in Oct, Nov, Dec, and Aug.!!

We arrive on Friday afternoon as well and our plan is to go to MK on Saturday. I can't imagine starting with another park. I'm hoping it won't be too bad, but I am willing to deal with it. We will be there on the 15th.

We too will be braving MK this Saturday. We are hoping that with EMH being at MGM that day it may hold off some of the crowds. We will be going for the later showing of Spectromagic and riding BTMRR during the first parade.

Saturday, May 8, will be one of the busiest days of the month. Sunday, May 9th, will be one of the slowest. The 12th will also be pretty quiet.

My experience with the MK is that weekends are incredibly busy, even during the low seasons. We try to go there only on weekdays.

How do you know this???

We went in late February and Magic Kingdom was awful on Saturday. We made it through the entire day because we were there with someone else, but the wait on many rides as a pp said was 60+ minutes. My husband and I took our daughter back on Sunday, and the crowds were half the size, and no extremely long lines. 25 minutes was about the longest wait. Fast Pass is the only thing that saved us on Saturday.

Well, we are going regardless of the crowds. At least we have another day scheduled for MK while we are there. I just hope the weather is nice.

pilotmono, I am also curious about how you know about the crowd size. Is there historical information that it is based on?

I wish I could tell you but I rather you did not ask. Today is the slowest day of the month.

...and you are correct that Saturdays are usually the busiest day of the week in the off season because of the locals. Otherwise Monday/Tuesday are the busiest.

Last week the only crowded park was the MK. We went to Epcot, MGM, and MK on Sat and MK was the busiest. Not 2 hour wait time busy, but 20 to 40 min wait times. IN all the parks we had almost no wait times for rides. Fast track was the exception, it had a 90 min wait time last I checked.

Just be ready to wait a little and everything will be ok. Waiting in line at WDW is still better than being at home :)
