Hoping to try Satuli this trip.....whats good? I've heard the pods are good...but taste like McD's. Was thinking about the bowl...with fish. Anybody have the fish recently...any good? Heard the beef bowl is good.TIA!!!

I had the bowl with fish 2 weeks ago and it was very good. More food than I thought it would be. But...none of it survived! Also had the blueberry mousse, which I had doubts about, but it was very good as well. I did not try the pods this time, sorry. But, you're right, I've heard only good things about them. Be adventurous. Have a great trip!

I feel like you really can't go wrong with anything here. My oldest daughter always gets the bowl with fish, black beans and rice, and she loves it. My youngest gets the cheeseburger pods every time. I've tasted both of their meals, and they are both really very good. I prefer the combination bowl with steak and chicken over whole grains and rice. It is probably my favorite QS meal on property.

Yes the Cheeseburger Steamed Pods taste very similar to a McDonald's cheeseburger. I really liked them. I didn't care for the Vegetable Chips at all. The Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse was pretty good.

My DH and I ate there last fall and thought it was very, very good. I'm a pescatarian, but I hate tilapia, so instead I had the Chili-Spiced Crispy Fried Tofu Bowl and it was delicious. My DH had the Cheeseburger Steamed Pods and thought they were only okay. Now that they've added the Shrimp & Noodles bowl, I may try that on our next trip.

Unlike PP, I actually thought the veggie chips were very good, and wound up eating all of mine and most of my husband's!

I had the chicken bowl with the potato/sweet potato mix with the creamy herb dressing. It was INSANELY good. Easily one of the best QS in disney and honestly better than a lot of TS too. Its that good and fresh and delicious. :)

The bright blue/blueberry dessert was awesome as well!

How spicy was this? Thinking this would be a good optio for one my my boys - he loves tofu, but can’t handle that much spiciness.

Ugh....its Tilapia???? Thanks for the heads up!

DH and both had the sliced beef bowl over hearty salad - it was wonderful! The dressing/sauce was a chimichurri type with lovely herbs. The beef was good quality and not over cooked.

DD1 had the cheeseburger pod (which I was glad to taste!) and it really did taste like a McDonald's hamburger. It had the pickle flavor though which did not go over well with my 9 year old. I had to buy her a nugget meal when we got back to our resort.

DD2 had the hot dog that was wrapped in some sort of cooked dough. She raved about it and ate the whole thing. Both kids meals came with kettle chips that were a nice change from the fries.

It’s my very favorite QS in the entire “World!” There are so many combinations for the bowls that you can’t go wrong. DD had the fish bowl when we were there 3 weeks ago and she’s still talking about it. I love the red and sweet potato option. DS had the hot dog and loved it. We really loved the chips that come with the meals as well.

Gross, tilapia. :crazy2: I appreciate the heads up!

I did hear that the hot dog is pretty darn tasty. I love a good hot dog, so I might have to try this one for myself. :)

I went on the VIP tour at AK on our most recent trip and it includes a meal with a sampling of many of the menu offerings and it was all delicious. I loved the chicken the most and my DS was really into the beef.

I found the pods to be without much filling in them. However, my wife and I often split the bowls.

We've had the cheeseburger pods and really liked them. The root vegetable chips are quite tasty. We've also had the chicken and beef bowl and no complaints. This has certainly become our preferred meal for AK when it comes to QS.

I'm surprised. I would have thought that the pods would taste more like Krystal burgers. :confused3

So, the reason the pods taste like McD's is because they use the same basic "toppings" of ketchup, mustard, onion, and pickle. This gives it that unmistakable McDonald's style, but the quality is definitely a bit better. The pods are much more moist than a McD's burger.

We did not get to try it out last year. I am very excited to finally check it out next week.
