We just moved into a new house a few weeks ago (our first! :yay: ), and discovered that the previous owners' Dish Network satellite dish was still attached to the deck.

When we had DirectTV installed, the technician just left the old Dish Network thing lying in our yard under our deck.

I've tried calling Dish Network several times, and no one has been able to help me get through to someone who knows what to do with the old dish. We've even emailed them and received no response.

I feel weird about the idea of just dumping it in the trash, but I'm kind of tired of seeing it lying there in the yard.

What would you do?

Put it in the trash. It's really not a big deal.

If your curbside is anything like mine, someone will grab it before the trash guys come.

If you are feeling wasteful, you can always offer it up on freecycle or craigslist for free.

Trash it. They're pretty much worthless.

The satellite companies don't want the dishes back, just the boxes. We got a brand new dish in February and cancelled our service in June...they didn't want the dish so we trashed it.

Thanks! That's good to know!

It does seem wasteful that they don't reuse the dishes, though. Interesting!
