Sat Nav in America

Hi, I am bringing my sat nav over to America in July. In this country they are the hottest things being stolen from cars, are they being stolen like this in America? Is there any special rules for using them in your country? I don't want to break any road laws by accident.

I don't know of any special rules and I haven't heard of a lot of them being stolen either. But as with anything expensive I wouldn't leave it in plain sight in the vehicle either.

Thanks. Over here you cannot leave them on show because if you are in a car park, etc it is what the thieves are really on the look out for. Just last week a plumber left one in his van, when he went back to it he confronted a young lad on a bike who was after it. He let him take it once he saw the lad was pointing a gun at him!
