Good Morning Julie,

I don't get the difference in the weather either :confused3

My world is fine, any sleep in yours? :teeth:

Yes, Atlas got us up at 6:30, so that was better for my beauty sleep. :)

I am off today and hoping I can get lots of domestic things done. Tomorrow we have an all day volleyball tournament. :upsidedow

How is Cole? And your Mom?

The meds seem to be working for Mom. :woohoo:

Cole is Cole

How's school going at your place?

Mornings Somethings!

Drive-by from scenic Dayton OH. :lmao: I was lucky that my mom even has power--- half the city is still without from those freaky Ike winds.

The wake was last night, very sad, but also some good moments. My brother Jay is a disaster (he was always his mom's baby, very close), while my oldest brother is eerily calm. I think he's still in shock, and also in "angry" mode. The district attorney called yesterday to say they're definitely pressing charges-- going for vehicular manslaughter w/ the highest possible sentence.

On that cheery note... gotta leave Panera now & get dressed.
Hope all is well! I'll read back when I get home Sat.

Miss you guys! Thanks for puttin' me on page 1! I feel like a movie star!

Julie, Cole got her first ride on a motorcycle Tuesday. It was a bit chiily, so she's not sure what to think about it. :rotfl2:

All Mr. Judi said was " It's not a Harley". No, but Ken I TRUST!! :rotfl:

Judi, school is OK. Spelling is always our biggest mountain to climb.

Beyond the chilly, what did Cole think about her hair blowing in the wind?? Good for her!!!

Glad the meds are helping!

Good morning all. It is technically still morning checking in at 11:40. I had a busy morning because Kendall had five tests today and she wanted to get up early to have me quiz her one more time in all of those subjects. That cut right into my morning DIS time but hey school comes first, right. :teacher:

I'm just getting home from Walmart and Target. I don't usually do both in the same day but I guess today I'm living on the edge. :lmao:

Shannon have a safe trip home. :car:

Judi do you have a motorcycle or was it a friends? :moped: Come to think of it I don't think I've ever ridden on the back of one.

Julie Atlas seems to be doing better with his wakeup times. He must have gotten the memo.

A friend has the bike. I have a bicycle

He use to be Cole's bus driver. Him, I trust.:thumbsup2
He owns a small one for the grandkids, so she gets to learn to drive herself next summer :scared1:

Tricia, when she has it mastered, I'll have her take ya for a ride. ;)

Good afternoon somethings....

Hope everyone is having a great day!

 Shannon

The hunt for meat continues down here. Today I found chickens and ground turkey. I also found a roast that I am going to cook tomorrow. No ground beef:sad2: but beggars can't be choosers and I was very happy to see the roast. I also found butter and cheese:rotfl:

We also ordered a pizza for lunch:cool1: Its the little things........

I bought the kids litebrites today. Joey is having a blast. Scott said is Kate too old for a litebrite and Joey too young? I said NOOO!! Joey is a great age (with supervision of course) and you are never too old for a litebrite.:goodvibes Now if I can just get the kids in bed so I can make a pretty picture:lmao:

I have a few pictures of some of the tree damage. I didn;t take pictures of all the sign damage or of the utility poles that are leaning.

My sisters house. It was like this all through her neighborhood........the piles of debris were huge...you almost couldn't see the houses. All that and she still wasn;t finished with the cleanup.

Heather, glad you're having some luck in the meat department.
Err, does that sound right ;) Pizza is :thumbsup2

I like light brites too.

Hang in there honey, it can only go uphill

There are dogs in that picture???:rolleyes1 :lmao:

 Thank you Judi. You're right. it gets better everyday. I have walked around saying we are so lucky so many times that Joey is now saying it. I must say it out loud without realizing it. My cousin is still without power. I have offered to let her stay with me but she refuses. Her kids went to stay with their grandma since she has power already. I told my cousin that she was tougher than I am...I would have moved in with her already if she had lights and I didn;t:rolleyes:

I can only imagine what Tricia went through during Katrina.

I'm so glad ya'll are ok.

You are a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for. :flower3:

You're in cattle country, who would have thought it would be burger:woohoo: Chickens better for you anyway.

;) There are folks right outside the neighborhood that hvae a herd of cattle. You think they would object to losing one? I wonder if you can still get hanged (or is it hung?)for cattle rustling in Texas?:lmao:

Good morning Sassy Friends!!!

Heather, I am so glad you are able to find some meat and try to get some "normalcy" where you can for your family. I don't remember you mentioning milk -- are you able to find that? I saw the pictures of Gilchrist, TX and my heart just aches for everyone that has lost so much.
If you can get mail and deliveries in your area and if there is something you would like that just isn't getting restocked on store shelves at this time, I would be glad to send you a care package.

Atlas just went out to play and I must get ready for an all day volleyball tournament. MrJulie is pinstriping today. So I must go for now, but hopefully I get back at a decent hour and can check in with my friends!

Hi Shannon, Judi, Wilma, Bonnie, Tricia, Angie, Becca, Kimmy, Rella, and anyone I sleepily missed. Have a great day!!!

Good Morning!

Thank you so much for your kind offer, Julie! It means so much to have friends. I did find milk. We are not lacking anything we really need....it is more like a craving for things we can;t find. The stores get more and more stocked everyday so it shouldn;t be too much longer before we feel completely normal.

I jsut found out Kate wil be home from school 1 more week.

Ilove that picture, Judi. The castle is so pretty and sparkley.:goodvibes
