We were here at Saratoga Springs the past two nights (movin to BWV today) and I just had to mention that the Congress Park area is absolutely fabulous!

We were facing their quiet pool, convenient since we are in a studio and hopped over to do laundry, and a bus stop very close by!

I highly recommend this area. More info on this resort to follow after my return home Sunday.

We also love that area, the quite pool is great looking out at DTD, but Im booked in the Springs Area in May, as I want to try all the areas. :cool1:

Is Congress Park also considered the main pool area?

No. CP is a five minute walk to the main pool. It has a wonderful quiet pool and a great view of the DTD.

If you want the one that is close to the main pool you should ask for the Springs. :)

It took me almost 10 minutes to walk to the main pool/food court area - after that I took the bus.

all the buses go back to springs before leaving - springs bus stop is across the street from the main pool.

going back there is a bus stop in front of the main pool area.

we stayed at CP on our last trip and loved it so much! I hope our trip next week we'll be able to stay there again :)

We were there 2 weeks ago. Stayed 1 night in the Springs this time, before moving to BWV. We loved the location but the view from Congress park area is great! I am going to request it for our post Thanksgiving trip next year. While I love the BWV, great location, I think I like the rooms at SSR better. I was really surprised by that!

HUFF, is this simply a request on your ressie, or are they actually letting folks specify a neighborhood at SSR? We've been at CP and Springs - we'd might like Paddocks just to have a 3 for (exising) 3 record! :rotfl2:

I guess its a request, I dont have my ressie in front of me , do they normally put that on the ressie? When I made my Res I ask to be in the Springs and was told great no problem, everyone seems to want CP, so I just took it for granted I would get Springs.

Thanks.

At least officially, MS won't take building / neighborhood specific requests as anything other than requests. What they told you does make sense, that the demand for CP is probably always going to be the highest so that asking for - and getting - a Springs or Paddocks building at check-in won't be a problem. At least, not until they build the new "Finish Line" restaurant/bar over by The Paddocks; then things might balance out a little.

Are you starting a rumor, DrTomorrow about the Finish Line or has that been announced?

rumor - but it does sound cool, doesn't it?

We recently stayed at SSR and were at the Paddocks, which was fine but a bit of a stroll to the main pool. Congress Park is our preferred spot, but we checked in after 6:00 pm and nothing was available. The Springs looked like a great area too. It is a huge resort!

Great to hear from you Carol! We've been in that area twice now and really like it. It is so nice to be able to park your rental so close to your doorstep!

I think next time we stay here we'll ask to be in The Springs...just to try out something different.

Also just back and loved the springs, short walk to pool, but had nice view of the lake and relaxed on our balcony everynight, and the stess of the parks were quicly forgotten. Had five children with us and it was nice being close to the main pool, but, also a bridge walk away to quiet pool and laundry facilities, we were in a studio. Loved this resort and the pool was great.

WE stayed at SSR CP for 2 weeks this summer and although we loved the quiet pool and the main pool and the actual resort was lovely we hated our room and weren't enamoured with the food on offer our room was situated on a corner so the people beside us could see into our bedroom and the balconies were so close together and really small for a 2 bed [8people} we felt cramped. Didn't like the interior of the rooms either. HAving said that we are not and have never been moaners and had spent a fantastic 3 weeks at OKW {always amazing to us. we love it]and 1 week at BCV [!st time there]which was like living in your own little peace of heaven immediately prior to going to SSR.

We were at SSR over Halloween and we were asked what location we would like. CP had no available studios, so we took the Springs area and were given a waterview room. Any future visits would request this area as we were so close to everything. We were fortunate that our balcony had the one end closed off to the other balcony and we were on the end so was quiet without any neighbors. I can see where some of the balconies don't have any privacy. Also some of the locations look out on the roadway or driveway which would not be a desirable location.

We have owned OKW for 12 years and is still my favorite. However, we did like the room set up with the queen bed and pull out sofa which as 2 adults gave us extra sitting area. With the sofa out I can imagine the rooms would be crowded.

Our only complaint was the bus service. There were times we waited for over 45 minutes for a bus. I can only imagine that this will become more of a problem as the resort enlarges.

Nancy

Still love OKW the best and

Totally with you . we have owned at OKW for 10 years and although we absolutely loved our room at BCV with a view over the villas pool and a fantastic balcony OKW is still home to us. We have add ons at BWV and SSR but all 9 members of our family feel so at home in OKW. Although we only go every 2nd year for 3 weeks Manuel and Eddie always remember our kids [For all nice reasons ]LOL and it makes their holiday.
