Hi,

Have booked Saratoga springs for a weekend.
We have never stayed there before and would love anyones opinion of what its like and which rooms or areas are good etc.
We have stayed in pretty much all of the other disney hotels so thought we would go for something different.
Any help would be appreciated.

many thanks

Sarah

Congress Park has a view of Downtown Disney. This was the first section completed and it is very nice. It's not that close to the main building and themed pool, but not that far.

If you want to be closer to DTD, I believe Congress Park is the shortest walk. We loved that area. It is farther from the main pool and the Artist's Pallette, but not that bad of a walk. The new Springs area is open now and it is closer to the main pool and the front of the resort. I don't think you will be disappointed with either area.

We are returning in September and I can't wait! :mickeybar :hourglass

I agree, Congress Park is a good choice. Try to get a room overlooking DTD. There is also a quiet pool in the congress park area as well. Have fun!

you can't go wrong at Congress Park. Any room you choose, has a beautiful view and faces Downtown Disney. You may not get a full view of DTD in some rooms but they are all in that direction. The landscaping is gorgeous at SSR. If you love DTD, you will love this resort. That is for sure. Enjoy the walk over to DTD via the walkway or sneak through the Turf Club out the back to take a nice boat ride. Be sure to check out High Rock Springs pool or enjoy the quiet pool--also lovely.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but not every room in Congress Park faces Downtown Disney. There are rooms that face the parking lot and I had one of them in March. Going in I thought all rooms in Congress Park faced DD too and was surprised after looking out my window. Be careful when checking in and the cast member says "you are getting a wonderful room", they are being sarcastic. My room number was 1536. It was close to the bus stop, kermit pool and the parking lot and was first floor. I looked out onto a utility room entrance. My only requests were non-smoking and Downtown Disney view and non-smoking was honored.

We are staying at SS in a couple of weeks. I would like to be near the bus stop and main pool/laundry area. What location should I ask for?

familyfun,

I would ask for the Springs area if you want to be by the pool, laundry and main building. The building directly across the street from Congress Park in the Springs area opened the second week of March and there was another building closer to the bus-stop that looked almost ready to open at that point. If I were to stay at SSR again I would not ask for Congress Park because you may not get DD view, like what I had. The Springs area looks like most rooms will face landscaping and ponds and it's closer to the main building and high rock springs pool. I thought the quiet pool was better than high rock springs which is very shallow all over, at least for adults. The quiet pool had a section 5 feet deep and there were a few people swimming laps. About DD views from Congress Park, two of the buildings do not directly face DD and may not have as many great views of DD. The building DVC is using to sell the resort is one of the two that directly faces DD and the model rooms directly face DD.
