Hello everyone...we are thinking of returning to Disney again and are considering staying on site at Saratoga Springs. There are seven of us and we would all prefer to be in one apartment. We are 3 adults and 4 children ages 15, 10, 5 and 3. We are not sure if DDP is worth it since we would obviously have to pay full price for it. Also would a 2 bed appt be okay for 7. What is the room config. Have looked on line but not too clear.

We are considering hiring a car for 2 or 3 days during our stay just to escape the Disney bubble for a few hours. Maybe a trip to a mall, Old Town, I Drive and City Walk, tho not intending doing US this time. Maybe half way thru the holiday, reckon the first few days we will be excited about Disney and not want to go off anywhere else.

HOWEVER we have also thought about hiring the car for the first day or two so we could go to Walmart and get a shop in...save paying Disney prices for food all of the time, are the cooking/fridge facilities in Saratoga Springs equipped for this? Would probably only be breakfast and the odd evening snack or sandwich if we had a pool day..

We have stayed in a villa before so know the advantages of that but like the idea of just booking everything thru Disney and getting it done, especially since we need to get on with it to plan for August this year.....would only consider a villa very close to Disney..Windsor Hills we've always stayed before.....we just fancy onsite!!!

Any comments, suggestions, criticisms or advice welcome.

Sorry long post.....typed it once and seemed to lose it so am hoping that it doesn't appear twice!!

I would go for a 2 bedroom. You would have the master with a king size bed and bath, full kitchen (yes it has what you need to cook a meal), table to eat at, a pull out sofa, and another bedroom with 2 queen size beds and another bath.

We stay in 2 bedrooms we are 7 too (hubby, myself, my dad, 16, 13, 7, and 3). We are comfortable with places we can get away from one another for a few.

Have you looked into renting DVC points? That may save you some money.

There's a great thread in the DVC resorts section

SSR Lovers and Owners Part 2

2 bed villas sleep 8.

Dedicated two bedrooms have 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom, lock off 2 bedrooms have a queen bed and a pull out 2 sleeper sofa.

Kitchens look well equipped for breakfasts and easy dinners!

We are hoping to stay here next year if the deal is right!

Renting points from a rental site eg. David Vacation Club Rental works out at about £4822 for two weeks in August for a two bedroom without flights or tickets.
