I would like any and all opinions on Saratoga Springs. What is the bus ride like to MGM? WDW? the other parks? With the current deal in Jan/Feb we can change our reservation from ASMu family suite to Saratoga Springs 1 br Villa for not much more, and a studio for $100 less. With a 4 year old we're thinking the villa, just wondering how convenient it is to the parks. I've seen some pics and it's beautiful. I appreciate your comments - Thanks!

Definitely a fantastic deal. Whether you go for a studio or one bedroom will depend whether you'd prefer to have a seperate sleeping room to your little one. The one bedroom villas are lovely.

Some of the buses were a bit slow when we went the first time but last October we never had to wait long. And it didn't take long to get anywhere - especially Epcot and MGM.

You should ask for a room in the Springs section as this will put you close to the Main Building and main swimming pool, which has a wonderful pool slide and zero entry.

Have a wonderful trip.

We have stayed at Saratoga Springs, and really enjoyed it. I did not find the bus transportation to be any worse than at any other resort that we have stayed at. I'd also recommend the 1 BR since you have a young daughter. This will give you the opportunity to put her to bed when she is tired, and still have some space for mommy and daddy time. This resort has a very nice pool area, and also has a community hall where you can go to play games and do crafts. The convenience to DTD is also fabulous. Enjoy.

We've stayed SSR 3 times in a 2 bedroom villa and love it. We love the resort, we love the pool, we love being able to walk to DTD. Most of all, we love the space the villa gives you so that your time away from the park also feels like a vacation. And I like having the washer/dryer to use on occasion, especially with bathing suits. You will have a balcony and we sat on the balcony every morning and had a cup of tea.

Twice we have stayed in Jan, slow season, and the buses were on time and never crowded. Both these trips we stayed in the Springs section, close to the main pool, spa, Artist's Pallette and Turf Club. Once we were there during Spring break, stayed in Congress Park. All rooms were full but didn't notice, except one time, a crowded bus condition. We did experience a very slow bus for Typhoon Lagoon one day but that's the only negative I could say.

We also love SSR and have no problem with the travel by bus from there.

for $100 i would do the 1bdrm and take advantage of the full kitchen for a few days and the Washer dryer so you wouldn't have to pack as much.

On a side note it seems to be alot of Marylanders posting and going to the World here lately.Makes me sound like I'm not a crasy as DW thinks I am.

I stayed at SSR in August. We really enjoyed it. We had a studio and it was very nice. I would have loved a 1 br, but they were all booked on the deal we had. We stayed in the Grandstand section, because that section is the first on and off the bus - Springs is last. We were there in August during free dining so it was busy. You should be fine in January. We enjoyed both the Grandstand pool as well as the Springs pool. The Turf Club was very nice for dinner and we enjoyed the boat ride to DTD very much. I think you would like it there...have fun!!!

mommy2aprincess4 I have nothing to add, but I am at work and your quote actually made me lol. "I draw the line at monkeys!"

We stayed there in January (in the Paddocks section) and really enjoyed it.

The longest we waited for a bus was 15 minutes, and that was only one time. It was in the morning after breakfast at Artist's Palette, and we were waiting for a bus to Epcot. Anyway, the rest of the time our bus waits were between 5-10 minutes.

If you can afford it, go for the 1 bedroom. You'll love having a big, comfy king bed, whirlpool bathtub, seperate shower, living room area with sliding glass doors leading to a patio, full kitchen, and a washer/dryer, plus a mainpool with a great water slide and spa (all the quiet pools are lovely as well with spas), and both a counter service and sit-down restaurant.

We stayed in a studio, which was also very nice and comfortable. The queen bed was very comfortable, and the sofabed was one of those new kinds without any backbreaking bars in the middle...it was more comfortable than our bed at home.:goodvibes The bathroom area was large, and it was nice having a minifridge, microwave, toaster, and full-size coffee maker.

Have a wonderful time!!:cool1:
