Saratoga Springs

Just called about this for friends last week - no they are not! $101 pp with a $10 off pp discount (depending on how many you buy, I think). Selling Sept., Oct., Dec., and Feb., UY. Prices go up to $104 pp March 5th.

I just bought SSR today, so no, they are not sold out.

As stated, the price goes up to $104/pt next Monday. I got the impression that the discount will still be there, but I cannot state that as fact.

The DVC sales people at downtown Disney said it was nearly sold out and that is why they are now selling Animal Kingdom???

My guide told me on the 23rd of february, when i joined that SSR would be sold out by the end of 2007

Projections from the Guides (not ast members working the booths) are that it will sell out by the end of this year. The last section (Grandstand) will be opening this year. AKV is their next step in the resort schedule. It goes on sale to the general public next month, I believe.

We just got back from SSR and the Grandstand was to be turned over to DVC today if it met there approval, We walked around there this morning the new pool was full and the kids interactivew area was up and running. I was talking with a contractor and they were awaiting DVC's arrival to approve everything. We absolutely love SSR and think it is in a class of its own, tomorrow we will be booking another trip in June and will try for the Grandstand. We did take a lot of photos and will be posting in the next few days. :)

Supercool! They said they'd have the first of the Grandstand buildings open in March. I guess it's going according to plan.

Will look forward to those!

We were there in January and are looking forward to returning !

What we loved about it was the tranquility of the place - especially compared to AKL.

HI There. Is the new pool next to the Grandstand area?Is this area close to DTD? We are staying at SSR for the first time in Aug. We did our presentation the day before we left, did a quick tour and bought the next day the day we flew out. We did not have time to tourn the entire resort. I am still trying to decide what section I should request. We are not sure if we will rent a vehicle when go on this trip. Usually we don't....but we are considering that since SSR is so large and we thought it might be neat to look around at the other DVC resorts and regular resorts. Thanks for any info.

Does anyone have a link that they could post for a CURRENT map of SSR with the Grandstand included in it? Thanks!

Yes you can walk to DTD from the Grandstand, you would walk towards the circus olay tent. I do not think you need a car as you can take a bus from DTD to any of the other resorts, unless you plan on doing things other than Disney. They all are very nice sections, another good choice would be Congress Park with a view of DTD.There is a nice leisure pool with a playground in that area as well. Our next trip in june I will request a pool view at the Grandstand as our first choice, second will be a Congress park DTD veiw near the leisure pool.

Just call me Map Girl! :cool1:

Uh, based on the above, the Grandstand buildings near the new pool are the closest to the ferry dock.

Congress Park remains the closest to the DTD walking path. Springs remains closest to the High Rock Springs pool and food/court, but not by much.

We stayed near the yellow 0.35 markings and basically followed the yellow line to DTD, 10 minutes at the most. We actually spent 2 days over there, We walked all the way around DTD towards the #11 markings (the dock). Its a good walk but there's plenty to do at DTD.And then you come up to the golf course and the turf club if you were to head left you would be in the Grandstand area to the right you would be at the main pool area.

THANKS!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We have stayed in Congress Park, The Springs and The Paddocks...In August 2007 we want to try the Carousel or The Grandstand....SSR is our FAVORITE Resort by far!!!!!

Wait there's more...

I transferred Caskbill's measurements to the new resort map. I think you can extrapolate how far it is in the unmarked areas from that.

Excerpt from his report: To get a feel for time, at an average walking speed of 2.5 mph, a quarter mile (1320 feet or 4.4 football fields) would take 6 minutes. At a brisk pace (3 mph), a quarter mile would take 5 minutes)
