Does this sound like a good or bad thing? I cant help but question where we have decided to stay since finding this board. We really like the idea of the kitchen. Our kids are very picky eaters and this way we can make them breakfast before we go to the parks. Except on Halloween we're doing the Princess breakfast at the castle. For those who have been to SSR, how are the pools? Kid friendly? We also like that we can walk to DTD but is there also a boat or something? Any tips, advice etc to help us make the most of our trip would really be appreciated. Oh- we're staying in a 1br villa. At $1000 for 4 nights, I can help but second guess my choice---esp seeing what others are paying at different resorts.

The main pool at SSR is a zero entry pool - very nice for the little ones. There's also a splash area with Donald. There are also "quiet" pools - I know one in the Congress Park section, and another in the Grandstand section I believe.

Depending on where your building is located in SSR you can walk to DTD or take the boat (there's also a bus).

We loved the one bedroom - DD could fall alseep early, and DH and I could stay up, watch tv and relax instead of all having to go to bed at the same time. Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

Thats why we went for the 1br...that way the girls can go to bed and we can stay up and unwind. We're hoping to stay in the Congress Park section.

it is a short walk to Springs section with restuarant and Springs pool with slide and zero entry. There is also a little slide for toddlers. At GS, there is a smaller pool with steps across one side where kids can play. And there is a waterplay-spray area where they could entertain themselves and you would not have to be in the pool. The hot tub is right there also, so you can be in hot tub while watching them in sprayground area.
We LOVED this section--it is also the newest section.

Also, SSR has a great kids room at community hall--even if you don't do the crafts, etc., you can go in anytime and ask for coloring sheets, painting sheets, and play board games--they have TONS of pre-K games, as well. They have a Disney movie playing on a large tV with living room sofas around it. THere is always a Cast member staffing it and they were very nice--I wish I had known this earlier in my trip--my kids LOVED it there and would have stayed for hours.

Thanks for the info! Im looking forward to the zero entry pool, Ive heard its really nice.

We were just there last week for a long weekend trip without our kids. We kept commenting on our next trip with the kids would DEFINITELY be there. The pools all seem to be very kid friendly. I saw many toddlers having a blast at the Grandstand pool and splash area. A 1BR Villa is perfect for a family with kids. We also commented to each other that the Studio would NEVER be an option for us when the kids are with us! :scared1:

oh good! we're so excited, and i obsessed over which resort to go with for so long...i hope i made the right choice! i read a ton of good reviews but then every time i see something negative i start to second guess the choice. thanks for the feedback!
