Saratoga Springs Questions

Hello!! This will be our first time staying at SSR and I know nothing but what Ive read on these forums about the resort layout. Needing some advice on best location/request to use for online check in to get the best location for our situation. It will be two adults no kids and we have a one bedroom villa. My husband has had 3 back surgeries in 2016 with the last two being Nov 2016. I am wanting to get us in the best location of the resort for ease and comfort of getting around. While he will do some walking etc at the parks, we will be taking it at a much slower pace this trip. He's had such a horrible time I want this to be as pleasant and relaxing a trip as it can be for him. I'm curious to know how far it is from Congress Park Building 2101-2436 to the Carriage House/food area and then headed the other way to Disney Springs. By map, it doesn't appear far (less than 1/4 mile??)?? How is the Grandstand area? Looks like building 8501-8836 may be idea for us (requesting close to main building). What's the distance to Disney springs if he were to be up for a walk over from Grandstand? Sorry for all the questions. Looking forward to being there in just a little over a month!! Rent him an ECV and it won't matter which building your are in. We enjoy CP, the distance to DS is about the same as the distance to CH.

Are you booked Standard or Preferred? Congress Park is a Preferred Location.

If you are driving there, you could stay at the Grandstand and drive to congress park. There is always extra spaces right next to the walkway for DS. The walk isn't bad but remember that walking throughout DS can be very tiring.

We have only ever stayed at the grandstand and the Springs. We really liked the grandstand b/c it was just far enough from the main hub for some quiet without being too far away to enjoy the main pool and artist palette. We have walked from the main house to Congress and it is about 5 minutes brisk pace.

I agree about the ECV. I used one before my Bilateral knee surgery and it made the trips enjoyable. Doing it once does not mean he will always need one. I walk around myself now, he will too someday!

Go to the member website and use the contact button to send an email from your account. We do this to modify reservations, add requests, modify names on the reservation. Better than calling and you get an email back when they do the changes.
