==Saratoga Springs FAQ==

wdw4life - we also own in building 2. Contracts for building 2 have various unit numbers (ours happens to be 3A). Yes, you can have an "A" in your unit number and still be in building 2. None of us have figured out how the unit numbers correspond to the building purchased...but I suppose that doesn't really matter much anyway.

aero99 - I think we are supposed to get our statements in May. Not sure how they will prorate it or at what rate.

I would have to dig out the letter I got from DVC to give you the exact numbers,

tjkraz,

Here it is (from the letter dated November 19, 2003):
Units 1A-1Q projected opening: May 17, 2004
Units 2A-9A projected opening: June 7, 2004
Please Note: All dates are subject to change..

Does anyone know what building they are selling at this point? I have read some people have building 2 but are they on to building three yet? Just trying to get an idea of how fast they are selling.
Thanks.
Lori

I haven't seen any reports of people being assigned to Building #3, which would have an occupancy date sometime in July '04.

AFAIK, the plan is to be selling SSR for probably the next 4-5 years.

Thanks for all the great info on SSR, we joined while at Riverside in July and booked our first visit to SSR for this September in early december. I have a quick question. Shouls I have received a reservation confirmation and points balance by now? Since it does not open until May I am not sure how they are handling this stuff.
Thanks in Advance.
John

We bought Dec 12th and have a June 7th date, so I assume building 2.

Our unit number is 4C

We made our first reservation for Sept last month and we received a confirmation a couple of weeks later.

Come to think of it, I haven't gotten a written confirmation for my May reservation, either.

You will not get a points balance report when you make your reservations. You need to track that information yourself.

Two things:

1. THANK YOU for the wealth of info. We are hoping to stay at SSR sometime soon so this was most helpful.

2. Your children are absolutely beautiful. What a precious photo!

Hi,

Great job on the FAQ!

There are a couple of pictures of a cinema, which used to be the Disney Institute. Will this be an actual cinema to watch movies?

That would be kind of cool.

Thanks.

Good question about the cinema. I'll have to add that to the FAQ.

The cinema was originally part of the Disney Institute. If my memory is correct, WebmasterDoc has made reference to it hosting things like Q@A with a WDW animator (film clips included) or celebrity speaking engagements.

There have been no announcements with regard to the future use of the facility, but I think it's a good sign that it has been rehabed with some of the other DI infrastructure buildings that survived the overhaul.

Pure speculation: perhaps they will use it for scheduled nightly movie presentations--much like Fort Wilderness has its bonfires each night. I wouldn't count on any first-run flicks, but it would be nice to see some of the Disney classics in the theater again.

Thanks so much for providing us with all this great info. Must have taken you tons of time to prepare. Now if we could just get more pictures. Love to make them part of my desktop and just sit and day dream....just a couple of seconds at a time though....LOL!

Thanks again.

We just bought SSR in building 10 b and if they are only building 12 buildings they most be selling rather well.

I believe that all of the unit numbers ending in the letter "B" are actually in building #2. If the estimated occupancy date on your contract is sometime in June 2004, then you own a part of building #2.

Just wanted to bump this thread (since I could not seem to find it on my own).

Thank you so much for sharing all this great info that you have put together. I have a better picture in my head now of our New Home away from Home. First trip to SSR this October.

Thanks again

Truly fantastic post! This is why the internet was invented!

Here's a SSR question I hope someone can answer:
While staying at OKW, we took the Trumbo Ferry to DD. During the ride, we went past the tree houses (part of the old Disney Institute, right?) and then we saw a few other fee-standing buildings - with darker green siding, they looked a little bigger than the treehouses. Immediately after that, you came to the spa building.
:confused3 Does anyone know what these green buildings are?
:confused3 Are they old DI villas???
:confused3 Will they remain part of SSR?
:confused3 How about the treehouses....will they keep those, or get rid of them?
