I was wondering, we are probably going to buy into SS in April once we know if my wife will keep her job(seh is a teacher and there are budget issues and she may be an odd one out). We planned to go in August but have no way of knowing the availability. Does anyone know that can help us?

You should be okay. Last week I booked a one bedroom for a week in June and they were wide open for the one bedrooms. (No availability for a full week in a studio though.)

I do not own at SSR.

On Wednesday, I booked 3 nights at SSR in a studio for 3 nights August 16-19th. Good luck!

Since you're planning to buy SSR direct from DVC, just make it very clear during the purchase process that you have a trip planned for August. Let them know that one of the driving reasons behind the purchase is your ability to take the funds that you had earmarked for accommodations in August and apply those dollars to your DVC purchase.

One of the great aspects of buying direct from DVC is that you can literally make a reservation before you hang up the phone. Obviously if your purchase is cancelled somewhere along the line, DVC can very easily cancel the reservation and they lose nothing.

So, just give your Guide the dates up front, ask him/her to verify availability, and go forward from there. I can pretty much guarantee you will have zero problems.

If it's any help I will likely be cancelling my booking due to getting a new job. I have reservations August 24-31 in a studio at SSR and Aug 31-Sep 3 in a BWV studio. I may cancel the SSR Reservations because i'm unsure i'll be able to get the time off but am going to try to keep the boardwalk ressie. So if that is any help to you let me know when the time comes. I'll be keeping the reservations for a while, until I get to the limit where there are cancellation restrictions.

Thanks for the info, it helps to know what our situation is.

wait. you need to bare in mind, that you cannot travel on points until your unit is complete and only buildings 1-3(maybe 4) will be complete by then. I have heard about people already buying into unit 4, so if its sold out you wont be able to travel on points then. I suggest you call a guide now and find out where things stand. You dont have to be there to buy, we did it all over the phone.

Thanks again, I was wondering about that. I was going to call tomorrow. Thanks again.

John
