Saratoga Or Old Key West??

Just keep in mind that the primary difference your home resort makes is the 11-month booking window.

The 11-month booking window is very important if you want specific accommodations (GV's, THV, etc) or you want to book a specific resort during one of the peak periods. For all resorts, peak periods are from Thanksgiving to New Years, spring break, Easter week, etc. For the Epcot resorts, F&W is also a peak period.

The 11-month window, of course, ASSUMES that you can usually book vacations more than seven months in advance. If you typically can't book that far out (and a lot of people can't plan vacations that far ahead), home resort really doesn't matter that much.

They are both of the same caliber, and have the same maintenance scheduled on a yearly basis. OKW, being the first has bigger rooms and more storage. I love OKW it's my favorite resort but with that said, I wouldn't pass on a free stay at SSS

You might notice from my screen name - we prefer OKW.

Fewer points per night + Larger units = more bang for your buck.

Atmosphere is similar, but we like the way OKW isn't as "clustered" as the units at SSR so it doesn't feel as busy.

Distance from the parks is about equal - no advantage there.

Parking can be more convenient at OKW if you have a car with you. But the difference isn't that great.

And don't worry about the condition of the units - both are maintained to Disney standards.
