The mean people on the DIS (just kidding here) are shutting me down at 9:00 PM Central time! What am I supposed to do from 9:00 - 11:00 pm??!?!?! Do I have to clean my house?!



I don't know about you, but I am NOT telling my family that the boards are shut down! I am just going to sit in front of my laptop and keep hitting the keys. Otherwise, they will want me cook, clean, watch tv with them or heaven forbid, have a conversation with them! It can be the Dissers secret that the boards are down!
By the way, it's just me, my husband and my adult daughter spendng the evening over here so I am not neglecting young children to hang out here!

Hey Mary and Friends,

Wanted to let you know we got here in Dubai safely, and are having a marvelous time! Weather is terrific, but the blowing dust and sand is way out of control!!! You can hardly see a city block away! The beach was fabulous yesterday, and we saw the world's tallest building- which l must say is incredibly tall!

I don't like blowing dust, though. We are having blowing pollen! YUCK! But it is going to be washed away in the next few days, hopefully.

So…It was time for lunch. We were only a little bit hungry…but we also knew that we should eat now before the rest of the tourists decided they were hungry, too!

We grabbed some food at a nearby counter service. I can't believe I already can't remember the name of the place? Maybe Pecos Bill?!? But I do have some food art...so am I forgiven?

I had... (now wasn't I being healthy! )

A very kind CM gave Sarah and Amy free cookies because it was their First Visit! Sarah even shared a cookie with me!

Then it was time to get our bearings and figure out what to do next. Jungle Cruise, Philarmagic, Country Bear Jamboree, Laugh Floor and Swiss Family Tree House were all still on our list. But then what? Should we watch the daytime parade later? Explore the castle? Shop on Main Street? Ride some things again?

Or…maybe…we should park hop and go to Epcot for a little while? Hmm…now that sounded good to them! They would get to go ahead and see Epcot today!! FUN!

Sarah suggested doing Jungle Cruise next…but looking at the map, I figured we would be better served to swing back and do Philarmagic and then head around and do Jungle Cruise, Country Bear Jamboree, and then the Tree House. Then we could go to Epcot. We would save the Laugh Floor for later between Wishes and Spectro.

Amy said that sounded like a good plan! But Sarah was mad! To this day, I am not exactly sure why? I think she wanted to go on the Jungle Cruise first. Or maybe I was a little over bearing with my suggestions of where to go next? (Sorry, Sarah!) Regardless of the reasons…Sarah was upset! We headed toward Philarmagic and Sarah was quiet the whole time we waited in line. You know...that uncomfortable silence. Remember, I have not known Amy more than a few hours.

Philarmagic was WONDERFUL! And I recall Sarah perking up after it, too! I love Philarmagic. One of my favorites!!

Then we headed to Country Bear Jamboree.

Don't you just love those bears!!!

We rode Jungle Cruise. I don't know what it is about the "let's take a fake adventure and watch the animals..." but I have decided that I don't like those attractions too much. It may be the cheesy narration? Nothing against those CM's at all...they are all very nice! But I can skip it. I don't even have any pictures...nothing I felt was picture worthy, maybe?

At some point here…I started to feel sick. Very nauseated. I had been feeling nauseated off and on for days. Even back to the Thursday that I left. Lauren had some sort of virus. But there was just NO WAY I was getting sick on this trip! NO WAY! I even took some Zofran (anti-nausea medicine) that morning to keep the stomach ache away. But it was creeping back.

So, I went to take a little break while Sarah and Amy toured the Tree House. (It was my goal to give them some time to just hang out...the two of them...so it worked out fine!)

While they were touring, I was taking a break on a nearby bench. I was, of course, checking the DISboards with my iPhone! (It is not the addiction I have, I was doing research! ) I had said hello to the people sitting next to me. Hello, people. About 5 minutes later the nice lady next to me said, “Are you on the DISboards?” (Dude...this iPhone is really small...how on earth did she know that?!?!) Uh…yeah? I must have looked pretty confused, because she smiled and pointed to my lime green Mickey on my bagallini! Oh YEAH! My lime green MICKEY! I was so excited!!! A DISer!!! We talked for a few minutes…and she told me her user name. Which was a mixture of letters and numbers…and I have no idea what it is?!?! So, if you are out there, please let me know!! Hello, random DISer! Sorry I forgot your user name!


Next, we met up with Amy's son!!! I suppose I need to back up a little bit here. You see, Amy has 3 kids. She is an awesome Mom. One of her children was staying with her neighbors since she was having a “Mommy Day” (love that term! I think ALL Mom’s should get “Mommy Days!”) The neighbors have AP’s to Disney and wanted to take each of her kids (separately) to Disney. So, this was a good day to take her oldest son! So Amy’s son was in Disney at the same time she was! He called her about now and told her that he was in the Magic Kingdom. They were close, so we went and met up with them for a few minutes! It was cool to meet her son and her friends! Hello, friends!


Next up: Park Hop to Epcot!!!

And I always say, it isn't a real Disney Trip until there's some sort of miscommunication or argument.... its part of Life, I suppose.

But, you're right... no one can stay grumpy after MPM!

Lunch looks great. And no matter how well planned a trip, you're going to have at least one awkward silence. It kills me, every trip, my family says, oh, we'll split up, nobody can spend that much time together.

Guess what happens? We're together 24/7! Well, with the exception of when we go to sleep. Then it's just the three of us. But seriously, in every trip you're bound to have a moment like that.

Best to get it out of the way early!

And I know how you feel about the Jungle Cruise. Although it's a classic, I haven't been on in years. Just not my cup of tea.

Give me a good Pirates of the Caribbean however...

William Update:

William is feeling MUCH better! He has been to school this week and says that he is finally feeling "normal"...so it did take about 14 days to get over.

Lauren is sick with a sinus infection, but she refuses to stay home from school because she won't be exempt from her exams.

And everyone else is doing well, as far as I know!!

Well, we had a real Disney trip, then!! Yeah...life still happens at Disney...funny how we all forget that as we plan the "perfect" vacation!

Sorry Sarah was mad at you! Doesn't she know not to question the authority and planning of a DIS addict?

I think the Jungle Cruise is boring too. Although some of the cheesy jokes are funny. I can't imagine waiting in line for it though.

I hope your stomach troubles don't interfere with the evening plans - I am looking forward to reading about lots of parkhopping.

William is feeling much better. Lauren seems worse. You can see it in her eyes. She refuses to miss any school because she wants to be exempt from her exams. It seems to have gone to her lungs. So we are doing the "beat on my back" therapy - which is no fun for anyone! And using her breathing thing to help her get better!!!

Oh, god bless you. Although I do have to say, my father in law is up before anyone else, showered, dressed, ready to go. And he always offers to take DS around for a walk or to play or whatever. I am SO looking forward to that. Especially now that DS wakes up so early. Really, those two are made for each other.
