Anyone see Sarah's latest accessory?:

Go Dems! She can't really be that clueless, can she?

Actually, she wore that to show her support for Hillary voters who do not want a socialistic government as well as a welfare program.

Right. :rotfl2:

Or is that what her advisors told her to say as soon as they realized what she was wearing?

Oh? So your going to be getting some of my paycheck too? Well, don't blow it...please. :(
:confused3

What has that to do with a scarf?

By the way, your info about why she was wearing it is from a comment on a Newsweek article posted here on a closed thread. It wasn't even in the article, just somebody who commented on it. :goodvibes

How so?

She flat out refused to answer any questions she hadn't been prepped for.

She resorted to talking points throughout the debate.

She is being held to a higher standard than any of the other candidates. They ALL use talking points, and they ALL used them in debates. They're politicians, that's what they do! Only Palin gets called out for it. Biden used talking points, too, when he wasn't grinning like a maniac.

No, only Palin flat out said she wasn't going to answer questions. :lmao:

There's got to be something else. I don't buy for one minute these claims that "I was going to vote for McCain but then he choose Sara". I find it very hard to believe that you originally thought that McCain was the best choice but since SP doesn't believe in abortion you would rather have a socialistic government that's probably going to try and control just about every aspect of your life and your going to vote for Obama.

Actually it is very easy to believe. The night at the RNC, when SP gave her speech, I thought McCain would win the election. She appeared smart and confident. He had (IMO) the perfect ticket. McCain (prior to this election) was a republican that sat in the center. He appealed to moderate republicans, independents, and "Reagan" democrats. He added Sarah (a woman of course) to appeal to the base (the far right). Those are the 'loyal' republicans (those who will vote republican no matter what). On paper that is the perfect ticket. The timing couldn’t be more perfect either. McCain wanted to take advantage of Hilary Clinton’s supporters that were upset with Obama's chose of Biden. McCain also adopted Bush policies that he once rejected (that appealed to the base also). McCain was once known as the Dems favorite Repub. He really has reached acrossed party lines - but he "sold" himself too far right. The man that McCain has been is not the McCain that has campaigned to America. Who is the real McCain? The McCain of 2000 or the McCain of 2008. He even hired the VERY company that tried to destroy him just a few years back - with some of the same tricks.

The problem with Sarah Palin was she was so unknown to most people. People wanted to hear from her and when they did - wow - she came off dumb as rocks. I'm not saying she is - but that's how she looks. Because so little was known about her the media was scrambling to find out about her, she became a polarizing figure – bigger than McCain (arguably). McCain couldn’t come close to the crowds she had. She became the ticket. Her polarization alienated many moderate republicans, independents and “Reagan” democrats. The only ones left is the base. The base is secured. IMO, this polarization is why so many “RED” states have turned “BLUE” and “toss up” states. She's corky and folksy – which comes across (to many) as a weakness. Regardless what Sarah might think, a VP only has two jobs, to break a tie in the senate (if needed) and to be ready to be President. The possibility of her as President is scary to some. Lastly, the RNC realized this “Problem” with Sarah and is hiding her from interviews. Only sending her on ‘friendly’ interviews (ie: Hannity and Rush). Even this recent interview she did with Brian Williams, McCain is right there (as if she might mess up by herself). She appears awkward. Something doesn’t seem right. This is why (IMO) McCain will lose this race. On November 5th the blame game will begin and most will point at Palin. Don’t freight, Palin will have a few years (8 to be exact) to ‘learn up’ on foreign affairs and will return on the top of the ticket – 2016. Will she win in 2016? I don't know, but she will learn all the mistakes of McCain.

While I don't agree with all your points, this is a very thoughtful post.

I can see the moon from my house -- that makes me an astronaut. Yeah!

No, she is not qualified to be POTUS!

Yes she is. Biden doesn't even know how many letters are in JOBS. That's terrifying if he becomes POTUS. How is going to spell his name on the top of his quiz?

No, of course not. But it does show how gracious she is.

It was given to her in the rope line at a Nevada event. Pictures of her address at the event show that she doesn't have it on. It's only after she's down in the rope line greeting her supporters does it appear.

Apparently, a democrat gave it to her and she put it on without looking at it closely. Or, she accepted the gift in the spirit with which it was given.

A very kind, gracious gesture. I doubt you'd see that at a BO and pal Joey event.

I don't want her as VP or POTUS, so what she says or does really doesn't effect me.

However the argument that she has been governor of a state and that gives her experience.....well that really didn't work out too well for the last governor that was elected president.

Saying Palin's experience equates to being able to run this country is like saying the night manager of 7-11 is capable of running Exxon-Mobile. She's clearly out of her league and YES, it's scary to think what would happen IF she were unexpectedly thrown into the Presidential role. Very scary.

For my Christian friends... I just read about a t-shirt I thought was interesting, related to the whole "qualifications" issue:

"Jesus was a community organizer;
Pontius Pilate was a governor."

I've heard this before..a few weeks ago actually. How exactly is this kind of statement not hateful and attacking? I thought only McCain supporters were spewing out hateful slogans?

Be consistent in your arguments. If you're going to condemn McCain & his supporters for engaging in "politics of personal destruction", then don't engage in it yourself or turn a blind eye when Obama does it.

Who cares what she wears or how much it costs???? Atleast she doesn't have any ties to people who talk about how bad the US is. She is genuinely proud to be American and doesn't have to lie about it just to get elected!!!!

It's a rebuttal, and a rather kind one in comparison to the criticism it is rebutting. Go back and listen to the rhetoric the McCain campaign has put down regarding qualifications, and you'll see what I mean.
