Sara & Ryan's Wishes PJ & TR ~ 8/17/10 WP/GF/Marina ~ 1/22 Thank you!

Ahh, I love love your PS!!! You tried so much amazing food, I wish I could have been you :goodvibes Your right, I feel like so much wedding food these days are so blah......you will definitely not have that problem! I really want to add the cheesecake lollipops to my menu after seeing them....I think I will email my planner and ask (seriously).

I love that you are having an after hours menu too! I want to come to your wedding!

Oh my!
So much food!!! It sounds like you guys made some amazing choices!
I am so looking forward to our PS
Thank you so much for sharing all the pics!

I so want the cheesecake lollipops for our DP :thumbsup2

I am sorry about the sinus infection! What a bummer!
The mad hatter hat, they had just put those out when we were there in February, DH and I loved them, they were flying off the shelves though, a CM at the emporium got talking to DH and he had the last one they had in display, we thought about buying it, but it was a bit on the pricier side, maybe we should have :confused3 ?

There's always next trip :thumbsup2

Your goofys look so cute!!! I always drag DH into the animators class :lmao: we ended up doing it twice in a row last time and we FINALLY got to draw Stitch!! I was elated, I go every single trip and I beg and plead with the instructor and finally this time he did it without even asking :rotfl:

I am a bit obsessed with that class, what can I say. :rolleyes1

*Sigh* your pictures made me so hungry... now I have a massive craving for sliders and milkshakes!

Thanks! It was a lot of food and very tasty! I just wish it hadn't also been so early in the morning. It would have been great as a late afternoon early dinner. ;) Those cheesecake lollipops were seriously so good! You have to get them!

I know, it's so annoying. Me and DF always get sinus infections. It's all we ever get, I may have to see an ENT specialist one of these days to figure out why. The dr. gave me antibiotics and a nasal spray so hopefully it'll pass in a few days.

OMG you couldn't find the hats anywhere! That kid said he got it online. We did see two people with them in the Emporium but they must have just put those out and they grabbed them.

It was the first time we ever did the class but it was so much fun. He asked what people had drawn before and gave us the option of Donald, Goofy or Pluto. It was really fun though and even DF got really into it.

Hey Sara!
Wow your PS looks so awesome!! I cant believe all that food, it all looks amazing! Your cake choices sound delicious too. It looks like such a fun experience, and to get so much done in the wedding planning all in one day is amazing! Only at Disney right? I really love those centerpiece holders you chose too, they are so elegant. Your wedding is going to be absolutely gorgeous! One question, do you remember how it took you to get from your hotel to the GF? For our e-pics we are planning to take a bus from POFQ to MK, and then monorail to GF like you did, do you think an hour is enough time? Im excited to read your dining reviews too, I love food porn! Haha. Looks like you guys had an amzing trip!
Marissa

Thanks Marissa! I know it was really crazy. It was funny because she said t was one of the largest tastings they've had and I'm thinking, I exercised restraint in my requests! But DF and I love food! They really do have it down to a system though and they only ask you the things they need to know. Thanks! I can't wait to see how everything turns out!

I think it probably took us an hour and 15 minutes or so. But we had just missed the bus and had to wait for the next one. The monorail is also not the quickest way to get back to the GF since it has to go the full loop again. So I would definitely take the boat. :thumbsup2 We had a lot of extra time so we didn't mind.

Lol, yes, the dining report that should be entitled TIW is simply not enough, we need the DxDP! I'll be starting on that after I finish the PS trip report. ;)

Food looks lovely - I wish my meager dinner would hurry up and cook my mouth is watering :rotfl2:

Thanks so much. Lol, don't worry, my dinner tonight was very meager too! :)

wow! Looks like you got a lot done! I love how many pictures you took! I love that your going to have milk shakes! My DF would LOVE that hahaha. I love your Pluto drawings! they are great.

I also have a dumb question? I have noticed this on a few peoples TR and it sounded like you did the same. Did you use your FP after the time slots? (I haven't read anywhere that you Def can do that....but I figured because you took a nap that it might have been past the times. We always go during the time slot so I wasn't sure :confused3

It's funny because I only really take pics on vacation. In real life I never take a camera with me anywhere. The milkshakes were so good too and she came up with a million varieties. I think she said we could have vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cookies and cream, chocolate syrup stripes in the glass but vanilla milkshake...I don't even remember them all!

Thanks! At first I was sitting there like, no way this is going to look like Pluto but then at the end it really does! The class was so fun too and I bet you would love it since you are pretty good at drawing things already! :goodvibes

Here's an article about it ;). But yea, you just have to use them after the start time and that day. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2430600

Lol, it was really delicious but we both came really close to getting sick, especially DF. So it probably was a little too much.

I'm really excited for the food though and that we can have the Jiko filet with mac and cheese. That is our all time favorite. :) Oh man, those cheesecake lollipops were so good! You have to add them! Even if you cut something else, they were so worth it! Those and the tiramisu's were the best!

We may have a stand-by list! I thought about the after-hours but it's really way too much for one day. We're using it for the welcome party a few days before instead. :thumbsup2 I'm even a little afraid of the DP being too much food, but I have to have that.

After we decided on the cake we went over a few more details and then Karen let us take a break for 20 minutes to walk off all the food before our meeting with floral.

We walked over to the Grand Floridian and took a look at the Summer House. We just love this resort so much. :lovestruc
IMG_1005.jpg

and the doors were open so I got to peek inside. ;)

IMG_1009.jpg

So there is some type of shelter if it rains, but it'd be pretty squishy in there.

We sat for a few minutes but it was pretty much time to head back so we walked back over and Laura was there waiting for us.

We went through our wedding colors, the type of look we were going for. Laura showed us various pictures of bouquets and flowers. If you're worried that you don't have anything picked out or aren't sure what you want, don't worry. Laura was able to nail down a look based on just a few ideas we had and she clearly knows her stuff. I'm having Disney price out similar floral elements too, this way I can see if it is better to use outside floral or Disney. Lee is much cheaper for personal floral, so if anything we may do that and use Disney for floral decor, but we'll see.

She showed us pictures of decor at the WP, we choose to reuse the reception floral at the WP in tall candelabras. DF apparently doesn't like fabric swagging. See girls, this is what happens when you ask their opinion. So we decided on pewter and lavender ribbon swagging behind the candelabras.

For the pre-reception we'll have white linens and chair covers with lavender sashes. On each table will be a bud floating in a glass bowl.

Centerpieces are similar to what we discussed with Lee. I think we added floral petals to the cake table.

Now onto my favorite part, the linens! I don't know why I care so much about this, but I really like nice linens and chiavari chairs. This is the linen look we're going for:

IMG_0966.jpg
IMG_0968.jpg

Only without the swagging. I think the table cloth is pretty enough on it's own and the swagging would cost a lot more.

I think we're going to do the pocket napkin fold and put the menu in there. Karen mentioned that the kitchen doesn't like you to list out all the entree options for pre-selected meals since guests sometimes change their mind. I said to just tell them no. But we did discuss maybe doing personal menu's. We'll see how ambitious I get as we get closer to the wedding. ;)

Laura picked out all the fabrics in our color scheme. Here are the pewter colored ones. There's a pin-tuck, an eyelash pin-tuck and something else I don't remember.
IMG_1013.jpg

and the lavender ones.
IMG_1011.jpg

here's what we picked. Pewter eye-lash pin-tuck linens with lavender napkins. The one side of the napkin is sheer and organza like and the other side is a flat poly cotton.
IMG_1014.jpg

I loved how the eye-lash linens had a little bit of sparkle too them. I think we also added some type of rhinestones sprinkled on the tables.

Then we talked about the Dessert party. We decided to stick with standard linens and chairs and add a few of those glow cylinders. I couldn't pick the confetti so we're doing a mix of silver mickey, coach and castle. :)

After that we discussed the welcome party. We're trying to keep it really simple and light on decor. Plus there are limitations with the existing tables. So I think we talked about added the red checked table cloths for the added tables and red napkins. But then DF wasn't sure he liked that, so we may cut that.

We'll also be renting these for the table signs.
IMG_0985.jpg

And that was our PS. :goodvibes

As we were leaving, DF was a little confused since we had added things I said earlier we'd probably cut. I explained to him how the PS is really like your dream vision and then you get the bill :scared1: and come back to reality. :lmao: So I'm sure there will be lots of changes, but basically if I thought I wanted it, I added it.

We left Francks and did a little shopping at the GF and then headed back to CBR for my hair trial.

I love the linens you picked out so much! They look so amazing together! It is nice that you will be able to have 2 floral budgets so that you have an option if one is much cheaper than the other.

The summer house is so cute, I can't wait to see pictures of someone actually using it.

I am excited to see your hair trial!

I am glad you had a great PS! As a fellow purple bride:rotfl: I love the color scheme of your linens. So worth covering the chairs in the GF. The WHR chairs in my opinion were horrible and did not go with my colors. Once I walked into the room on my wedding day and looking at my pictures I am glad I covered them. I told you it was ALOT of food for the tasting! What a great experience it was to be in the GF kitchen. I am looking forward to your hair trial pictures.

How great that you were able to get some park time in during your trip. I am like you on TSM, DH usually always beats me too!

I was totally drooling over all your food options. The sliders are so much fun and I love all your menu items for the welcome meal with the fries in the cones, etc. The steak and mac & cheese looked so delicious! I also loved some of the other things like the cheesecake lollipops and the caesar salad. The castle the GF kitchen had set up on the table by Mickey & Minnie is the Jim Shore one like we used for our cake table :goodvibes

We had Laura for our floral manager too and she is great. I love all the linen options you have and it sounds like everything will come together fantastic!

Wow, all that food looks really yummy. I may have to take note of those dishes to request. So sorry to hear you guys were feeling sick. It looks like so much food.

BTW which cake flavor/fillings did you add?

The linens look just gorgeous. I can't wait to see everything all together.

Wow I have to agree with everyone else in that the food looks AMAZING! Yummmm

I really love the linens you guys choose. I can only imagine how pretty a room full of them will look, beautiful! I think it's a great idea to reuse the floral from the WP. I think you made the right choice with the swagging. I didn't even know that had a name! :rotfl:

Everything looks gorgeous! :lovestruc I've also been looking at having the sliders so it was great to see/read about them! :thumbsup2

Just a quick question, I don't suppose you have bigger photographs of the Disney favours? It would *reaaaally* help but if not, no problems! :goodvibes

Thanks! I'm really in love with them. I don't know why I love fancy table cloths so much but I really do! :lovestruc Yeah I'm really interested to see which turns out to be cheaper.

We did see a party there over the summer when we were staying at the GF, it looked really nice all set up and such a nice casual location.

I am glad you had a great PS! As a fellow purple bride:rotfl: I love the color scheme of your linens. So worth covering the chairs in the GF. It was really so fun! I think purple is the best! I think it's girly without being too girly. ;) Oh I know, I hate those chairs, why couldn't they get better ones? I think it's to force you to cover them.

I love sliders, so I'm so excited for the welcome party. The food was soo good, I wish we could have packed it up for later and enjoyed it then, especially those leftover desserts!

I thought it looked familiar, I loved your cake set-up with the different cakes at different heights and the castle on top. :thumbsup2

She really is, so sweet and knows her stuff. Thanks so much! :goodvibes

OMG food heaven!

It was so delicious too! :goodvibes

That's just what I did, I went through PS recaps to figure out what sounded good and what we'd like. Lol, well it was our fault for being such little piggies. We should have had a really small meal the night before. :thumbsup2

We picked red velvet & buttercream, almond with amaretto, and marble with bavarian creme and fresh strawberries. I wish I could have packed up that cake tray too, it was so tasty! The almond with amaretto was amazing, I loved it but DF doesn't like amaretto for some reason. But I totally could eat an entire cake of that myself.

Thanks! I'm really excited to see it all together too.

It was really amazing and being in the kitchen was really cool too. Thanks! I really love them too and can't wait to see it in a decorated room. Lol, yes, the swagging I think I've seen it on a few BEO's so I knew the name. ;)

Everything looks gorgeous! :lovestruc I've also been looking at having the sliders so it was great to see/read about them! :thumbsup2

Just a quick question, I don't suppose you have bigger photographs of the Disney favours? It would *reaaaally* help but if not, no problems! :goodvibes

Thanks so much! Lol, as soon as I saw them on the new menus I wanted them. I wasn't sure they would let us try them but I was so glad they did!

I did make that picture smaller but I could send you a bigger version so you could get a closer look.

So after our PS we went back to the GF and did a little shopping. DF loves the shave lotion at Basin White so he went there while I went to Summer Lace. I was on a hunt for the Dooney clutch (the white one with the characters). I found one with a pattern I liked and it was 20% off with my AP. :thumbsup2

My hair trial was for 3 pm. DF said he was going to take a nap during the trial. I told him not to because I thought that would be weird, but he was insistent

We hung out for a little while and then there was a knock on the door. It was Lane (sp?) from Beaute Speciale. At first I was a little disappointed because I thought it would be Ana and I had such a great experience with her last June.

Lane was so sweet. We really had a great time. DF jokes that she's my long lost sister because we actually did resemble each other. It turns out her mother is also Asian and her father is also American. We also had very similar experiences growing up. So we were just talking nonstop and laughing and DF tried to sleep but couldn't, so he went down to the pool. He later told me he really thought he could sleep through anything but we were too loud.

I was originally supposed to just get a hair trial, but Lane asked if I wanted to do make-up too. So I figured why not get an idea of what everything will look like together. ;)

I showed her a few pictures, I told her my concerns about my hair curling. She told me that they use special products and have their secrets, so if I really wanted a curly do, they would make it happen. I also showed her some make-up pics. They all had dramatic eye make-up which I love but in reality I think it was too much for me. I'm not used to wearing very dramatic make-up, so while it looked nice, I think it just wasn't me. The lighting was also terrible in that room, so that could have been it too. Lane was so sweet though and really wanted me to be happy with everything and took off some of the make-up and redid a few things.

Here's the final look. Lane said for the day of the wedding they would normally set my hair and redo some of the curls after make-up and spray them more so they would be even more unlikely to fall out.

IMG_1018.jpg

After the trial, we hung around for a bit but DF still wanted to go to Citricos for dinner, and it seemed a shame to not go somewhere nice while I was all done up. I think my hair held up pretty well for the rest of the night. We even rode the boat over the GF and it was very windy. Here's a pic from Citricos.

IMG_1032.jpg

Taking it all out at the end of the night was a pain though. The airbrush make-up really stays put and I had 26 bobby pins in my hair that I had to find and take out . So I'll definitely have to bring some make-up remover and de-tangler for the wedding!

The hair and make up look great! I'm glad you got along with the makeup artist, I think that's a big plus. I'm glad to here you had a great trip!

Your hair and make up look great! I'm glad you and lane hit it off!

How did you like Citricos? Me and DF are eating there on our honeymoon but I've never been there.

Thanks! We really had an awesome time!

Thanks! I love the hair but at first I wasn't sure about the make-up. I think part of it was I already had make-up on so that made it feel more heavy. DF jokes that she's my long lost sister.

We love Citricos! We've gone a few times now. DF always get the steak, but this time I got the chicken and it was soo good! I'm not sure what type of veggie options they have there but all the food we've had has always been good. I also like how it overlooks the GF resort, so pretty!

The hair and make-up look gorgeous! :thumbsup2 It's great that you both connected, it does make it easier to make sure you are on the same page with what you want.

I am really enjoying reading about your planning session! Being an Escape bride I don't get one so I'm totally jealous:headache: All your choices sound so yummy! Your hair and make-up look really great! Can't wait to read more!

Love, love your linen choices.

Your hair looks fantastic and the makeup looks good even though you are not used to it I think it looked great. Glad that you and Lane hit it off and that way it made it a great experience.

Wow, everything from your PS looks so great. I love your hair too.

I'm super jealous, I wish we could have done a menu tasting! Evething seems to be coming together nicely for you!
