Santa sends two Princesses & Mom & Dad to WDW for Christmas

We have been a 8+ times to WDW in the past 3 1/2 years. This is my 1st trip report

I am starting it while we are here. It will be a couple of days before I can get back to the next part. Thanks for having patience with me.

Prelude:
Plan A: Book a Disney Cruise for Christmas week.

I had the wonderful idea to check out the availability of a Disney Cruise .. until I got the quote. Got the great idea to take a Christmas trip instead.

Plan B: Dad uses his SPG points to book 5 nights at the Dolphin.

We began planning this trip on 12/12/06.

I started reading the Dis to get ideas on how to surprise the girls. Got lots of ideas. Had to find the best one for the girls as we had to leave on 12/24/06 at O'dark thirty.

Let's get Santa to visit us on the evening of 12/23/06. Get Santa to check his schedule and he can fit us in.

I started to pack clothes for the girls & I. I snuck the suitcases up from the basement & hid them in my scrap room. IF you scrapbook, you can understand how much of a mess that room can be. . I leave Dad to pack his own things.

Next chapter: Getting the shopping done, alerting family as to what the girls could use on the trip, spending the day before we leave with 21 family members and keeping this a secret from the girls.

Can not wait to hear how the surprise went. When i was 9 mom and dad tricked us by telling us we were going to Washington to visit family and we had a layover in Orlando and me being a bit wiser knew that air travel just did not happen that way so i had it figured out but never let on. It was standing in front of the huge inflatable castle that was in the airport that they declared we were staying in disney! hope you are having a wonderful christmas in the world.

I just had to pick up some stocking stuffers & matching sweatshirts or sweaters as I like to match our shirts & it's easier to find us in the crowds.

The helpful Mgr of the Disney Store found ALL the sizes for us in matching Mickey Christmas sweaters. She went so far as to go in the back & open new boxes of merchandise. DH took the girls out of the store after trying on our sweaters. The Mgr. then showed me the matching long sleeve t-shirts I HAD to have to match the sweats I had in my shopping bag. She gave me a weather report for Orlando as she was trying to sell me on buying the t's. It was the easiest sale she had for the day.

You should have seen the look on DH's face as I came out of the store with 2 of the largest bags they have FILLED with stuff. He thought I spent $100+ when he left but sure was shocked to see I went wild

I found lollipops, new compact brushes, candy filled princess wands & candy bracelets to stuff their stockings. I also found which new stuffed toys the girls wanted for Christmas. This was real important as my family called when I got home from the store and family members had called for ideas for the girls for Chirstmas.
