I know that Sanibel isn't exactly Orlando, but we are taking a 4 day break at Sanibel in the middle of our WDW vacation and are looking for honest opinions and advice for fun things to do and places to eat there. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

(Please move this thread to where it needs to be! -Thanks!)

The Island Cow is our favorite restaurant. Good food, huge portions, and reasonable prices.

We tried Chee Burger, Chee Burger this time, but I didn't think they really lived up to their reputation. OK burgers, but nothing great.

We spent a week on Captiva in December. Other than the beach every day, we didn't do a lot. The islands are fairly quiet. Great for just relaxing.

Noah's Ark, a church thrift store, is always good for a browse. One year I found two Disney refillable mugs there for a dime or a quarter. We usually check out Goodwill as well.

The Ding Darling nature preserve is pretty interesting, but you can see waterfowl and other wildlife all over the island.

Ooh, ooh, drive up to Captiva and eat at the Bubble Room - a very fun and unique place with great food! http://www.bubbleroomrestaurant.com/brfl.html If its "downtime" from WDW you may not be interested, but in Ft. Myers there is a dinner theater that had a matinee Childrens' Theater lunch - they did a really nice production of the Little Mermaid last year. The food is a buffet and was very, very kid oriented - but we got a great fill of mac and cheese and bland pizza! :thumbsup2

Have fun!
